Yeh in our community we have 2 or 3 regular girls playing. Just as good as kicking you bum as anyone else.
Yes, if you want to find girls, try to actually meet them OUTSIDE, instead of the average Webcamslut75631 on the instant messaging program you're using...
Can't understand why. I was 14, maybe 15 at the time. I wasn't exactly looking for a date. As is the nature of the game, most of my "kingdom" used ICQ, including the girl in question. We simply moved from game-related to more social interaction and ít worked out quite well. We lived in the same town, and decided to meet, and the rest is history.
I know of several people who've met through Utopia, BTW. I can name at least one couple that got married.

Yeah i've seen alot on tele, and stats say that internet girls go pretty well, as far as marrige/divorce, but i dunno. Just seems a little geeky/wrong to me <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/confused-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
So if you are on the internet and for some reason maintain contact with someone (such as both playing the same game, which is as good a reason as any), and find out that you actually like eachother, you *shouldn't* take a chance, just because it's "geeky"?
<!--QuoteBegin-Snidely+Aug 21 2004, 07:32 AM--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> (Snidely @ Aug 21 2004, 07:32 AM)</td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin--> Why is it sad for two people to meet through a common hobby? <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd--> Because your hobby is gaming, not mud wrestling or binge drinking :rolleyes:
No seriously, the same rules apply for meeting pretty much anyone through the internet. If you're not the absolutely worst judge of character you won't exactly have horrendous experiences - appearances and their lifestyles might shock you a bit, but thats a good experience and opens up your eyes to the world around you and how alike people outside your own homogenous group can be.
<b>J</b>ust the s<b>a</b>me way that not every dude on the internet is L33T4554551N with a sqeaky voice or butt-ugly like a very special #cri member (Name omitted to protect the guilty), <b>n</b>ot every chick is webcamslut666 or madd<b>e</b>nigly obese.
I don't see peoples problem with meeting both guys and girls over the internet. Use the same common sense to chose your friendships and relationships than you would in any other enviroment, and you're set. If you're a purely superficial person you're more likely to get screwed over, but hey don't we all love to see that happening?
dont forget Granny plz... The oldest women player in NS I guess... Im not sure she is still playing or not but I saw her few times in pubs or forums a while ago... <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Maybe we should add a new option in NS. Just before the game starts, the server will ask "Are you a male or a female? 1) Female 2) Male" If you press 1, then a female model will spawn out. LOL!!!
I can't command anywhere except servers with decent admins, or servers where people know me, because of how annyoying my voice is (very limited selection btw). I had to stick to just one server for awhile because they wouldn't put up with the crap people say to me when I comm (and I'm a good comm too). I'm not sure many male players have to deal with having all the nodes on the map capped, and two hives locked down, all upgrades gotten (cept grenades because I think they get in the way with weapon switching), many key points elec'd just for fun, and a pg to their only hive that people just wouldn't go through (even after I beaconed) because they were <i>still</i> too busy trying to eject me because my voice was annoying... I'm sure that's one of the reasons why you don't see many outwardly female gamers. There are probably a lot more than you think. Buts it's stupid people who make a big deal about them, or people who complain about their voices that will keep them from wanting to play. Keep it up.
. . . and don't waste your time replying to this saying your server rocks, and that doesn't happen, I just wanted to let you know why you don't see many girls, because for some reason you just don't know.

Saltz you should post your pic too so Prodigy can rate you hot or not
Oh and for the record, I don't think I've ever seen one good female player. I've seen one or two with potential but they both had a crappy computer or connection which limited their potential, which kinda sucks.
The thing is, guys are naturally inclined to like machines. Historically, they have been more interested in machines, mechanics, science, etc. etc. for over 300 years now, and it's not going to change anytime soon.
Most females with computers get them for the <b>social</b> aspect of it, and their computers can barely run HL, and they aren't concerned with being the best, simply to have fun and meet people. And the evidence definately supports this.
We go from chicks playing NS to some society instinct stuff... what the hell is wrong with you people? <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/confused-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

and i would have to agree with forlorn, i am sure there may be a good one somewhere, but i have yet to see it :/
Forlorn : Homogeneous isn't a term related to sexuality - and I'm into chicks. Heres the m-w defintion, for reference : <!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->1 : of the same or a similar kind or nature 2 : of uniform structure or composition throughout <a culturally homogeneous neighborhood> 3 : having the property that if each variable is replaced by a constant times that variable the constant can be factored out : having each term of the same degree if all variables are considered <a homogeneous equation><!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
And although some people have already bothered to point out the flaw in your rigid reasoning of pre-determined conditioning (matriarchal societies anyone?), suffice to say that players not seeking attention (aka "the social aspect") leave alot lower profile and usually don't even wear gender-specific names. Thus most guys just assume by default they're playing with another guy, and to be quite honest when looking at discussions like this one : Its probably alot better that way.
Not that knowing if a player is a guy or a girl actually matters, but being a good player is a totally relative thing ya know. Like me, there are a slew of people that think me to be a friggin badass player, and then there are others that could chew me up and spit me out without even noticing that I was part of the meal.

When you no longer go to school or university, it's not all that easy to find a partner. (Going out with a co-worker's probably a bad idea.)

And your point that guys are more attracted to machinery than girls is absolute crap.
There is no such thing as instinct, there is only curiosity and conditioning, but let's save that debate for another day.
Avenger-X, questions like these often have people questioning your social status, physical stature, mental state, and a whole slew of other qualities.
Who had dominance in society in the past and even in the present, males?
Jeez, it's not like all societies were male-dominated, which further refutes his claim.
The social and economic and geographic stimuli of the time dictate what a society will be like.
