For you hard-core NSers
I was going to post this for more people to see, but I don't think we can afford the bandwidth. If anyone wants to informally mirrors these files, just reply to the thread and I'll update this post.

Some IWA guys (yes, the CS ones) play the NS PTs (4.8 megs)
Random people play the NS PTs (13.9 megs)

This just in (10/15/02): TAU vs EC (first game is possibly the best NS game I've ever seen, amazing and exciting, must-see NSTV) (11 megs)

Thanks to 0z for the temporary host.

If you don't know how to watch demos for HL or NS, download and install Geekplay first (mandatory utility for demo watching).

Enjoy these, and watch the masters at work (esp. TommyD and Cyanide's commanding).

I thought that TAU's boosts in the bast MS were quite clever. Note how TAU effortlessly hold off the PT skulk rush. This is how everyone will be playing soon (and this is something the PTs never did).

Great demos, lots to learn from them. Thanks.

I agree.. I was always envious of clanners for these sorts of things, boosting just never happened in pub CS games. I hope, with the help of the commander, these sorts of teamwork-requiring tactics become commonplace in NS pubs.

Yeah, I noticed different tactics between PTs and clanners on rushes, in the IWA matches you had no chance.
One thing I found strange, the PT fades hardly blinked at all in the demos! Im always blinking, hardly use acid rockets and bile bombs at all. Is there a 'best way' to use the Fade?

You're calling them "masters" even though N-S has only been out for a week?

I watched about 10 minutes of the first demo listed and started to hear Natural-Selection calling my name.
An itch I had to scratch.

Oh and Flayra, "voice_loopback 1" next time please

They're called playtesters, they've played alot longer than any of us, so therefore, they're more masterful.

And btw: Why weren't these just recorded in hltv? I mean it's more fun to get a live view and free roaming throughout a game rather than just one camera view that you can't move.

iwa and TAU aren't the gods of NS, atleast not yet. ^_^ they may be quite good at CS, but cs doesnt transfer through all games. only time will show if iwa and TAU can master NS like they do CS.

Because the HLTV isnt featured in the current NS-Release...

And i think with "Enjoy these, and watch the masters at work (esp. TommyD's elegant commanding)." Flayra ment the Playtesters (therefore the reference to TommyD)...

Bah, put the dem.s in the ns mod folder. Then while in console, type in:

    playdemo <filename>

    TAU vs EC...

I am lost at what to say. We knew going into it that these guys were CAL-I, and EC are nothing but belly-button-lint-eating fools. When EC played marines (the first game) each EC member saved the day about two times. My two were 1) Killing an upgrading (yes, in egg form ) fade who was outside an foward base that was seigeing Comp Core and 2) Saving traid with my pistol. This game was up and down -- one moment I am pulling hair out of my head and the next I am dancing. Cyan's brillant commanding, with no doubt, won us the game. Using scan to see cloaked skulks was a great idea -- and the distress beacon that saved our home base was off the wall.

GG's to TAU who put an an amazing fight as aliens.

    Best. Game. Ever.

Btw - Flays camera work pwns. Nice work, flay.

Note Cyanides 1337 use of the Distress Beacon!

    *applauds EC*

I got the demos myself that i recorded, lemmie know flay if you want any of em.

Definately was a nice set of matches, I think as NS progresses on, we will see some pretty intense matches when clans get more organized and develop some really wicked strats. Needless to say, TAU put up one hell of a fight against EC, not bad at all.

Quick quick, get a plugin for the EC website! ;D

As I cannot currently play NS online, my only NS time comes from watching these videos. EC never let me down, and I really am proud of them. TAU are also a great bunch of people, I just wish I could take part.

I don't know what to say, other then that was the best game i have ever played/commanded. I love you guys, and i can't wait to play again. Great Game!

Aww yes -- Bozzeh took out quite a few before the beacon... just one of the many times the game was saved by a single member.

That was an absolutely awesome game on both sides. Mega props to TAU for keeping it close throughout the whole match.

Damn. I never really noticed how much I sucked it up during the first round . Bozman you were incredible, you were really on your game tonight. Steve was also incredible. As for steve saying we both saved the day twice, I don't think I really did. Just kinda stood around, shot the occaisional skulk, and got killed alot. Oh well. Props to TAU, we thought we were screwed when you guys ambushed us that first time coming out of Command hive (sadly, not shown on film as Flayra was busy taping the fascinating process of a skulk chewing on a resource tower). But Cy's clever use of sensor sweep saved the day, and were were able to (barely) set up a base just outside Computer Core. Then came the fades! Chaos, madness, and incredible fun.

As for the second round, Yep, that's me on top for most of it . However my limited skulk skills pale in comparison to eBnar's incredible lerk skills. Fantastic job everyone!

    Incredibly well played.

Fades are the most beautifully animated models, ever.

Honestly Cy that was very impressive commanding.
