There's some parts of GTA that just make me mad. No dashboard? Who's fault is that? If they can put the time into making a gigantic game world, can't they make some dashboards for the first person car views? And multiplayer. Maybe PC will have 16-32-64-whatever player multiplayer, but I doubt it. It's going to have to be added in by a mod, I bet. And that sucks because the last mod was really laggy.
What I hated the most about the previous ones, was how the police were biased. If you'd go up to someone and steal their car, the police'd be after you, but if someone steals your car and the police clearly see it, nothing happens.
Oh oh! And the AI. God it sucked. Anyone know wether it's any different?

We had interviews with a prominent GTA AI:
AI-00042: "Yeah, I mean, seriously, those were tough times for us. The man was putting us down. No matter how hard we tried to get arrested, the copper was always going after the god damn human player. I mean, how fair is that?! All we want is equal opportunity for AI in the workplace. This includes regular arrests and cavity searches, and an assurance that pregnant AI will not be passed over for such a job."
Germaine Greer has remained strangely silent on this issue.
You could also speed through the streets, ignore road signs/red lights and crash a bit everywhere (non-person/no killing) and not be arrested by police. It compensates for the car theft punishing <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

In a game like GTA, having great lag-free netcode is a nightmare. The only reason there are any mods for GTA3 and GTA:VC that add multiplayer is because they are hooking into code that the developers left in the game binaries from when they tried to put network play into the game.

"Equal opportunity for AI!"
Uh, we already have Mutli Theft Auto mod for GTA3 and VC, and it's not laggy - it's actually a lot of fun. I don't feel like linking today, so look it up on moddb.com.
I just hate the "fog" (ps2) because when your driving at a really high speed:
BOOM! a road sign comes up from nowhere and some cars and your dead.
I love it when you have the sanches and drive around in the mountains.
God I hope not. Makes flying a plane really hard.
I think it would have been changed if only it was possible. <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I realize that we have MTA for GTA3 and VC. That's the whole dang point. Why does it need to be a mod? Can't it be part of the dang game? I don't want mods to address a fundamental lack of multiplayer in a game that screams for it, I want Rockstar to.
Anyways, it sounds interesting, anybody got an estimate for the minimum system reqs (when the PC version is released)?
Oh yeah, and what time period does this one take place in anyway?

But who knows when or if it will ever happen.
But you must admit there IS a market for it.
**EDIT** NM.
you pay them monthly so they can run the 10000 man servers
That was proven false on Myth Busters, which is the best show on T.V. right now.

Maybe they're to lazy to deal with a netcode, or maybe they don't know how.

Edit to add that this is by far the best console game ever made. It blows Ninja Gaiden out of the water.
Let that sit in your head for a second
Ninja Gaiden is mediocre compared to GTA:SA
Edit 2: I found some Graffiti that said "Fam 4 life"

If you think its so easy I'd love to see you try.
In a game like GTA, having great lag-free netcode is a nightmare. The only reason there are any mods for GTA3 and GTA:VC that add multiplayer is because they are hooking into code that the developers left in the game binaries from when they tried to put network play into the game.
It's not an easy thing to do...

Definately. I heard from a few people that looked over it and just went "...nevermind."
...as for SA: Wow. This is pretty fun!

THat would be whicked cool, but absolute HELL to balance with the kind of PVP they'd have.
...and what about stealing cars? Nothins fun about gettin Jacked. I'd make it 10x harder to steal a car than before, unless you do something. Make it skill related or something- if you're good at lockpicking for example, you could get in. But you'll have to be good at hotwiring to get the keys.
You'll have to be intimidating to scare a person out of the car. You'll have to be strong to tear the door clean open, drag them out, kick their flat body, and drive off.
...which, if you don't kill/rob them while their on the ground, would have them calling the cops, instating a 2 star thing. And when you get cought: Any "Illegal" money is gone(that means any drug transactions, blood money, or general dirty money) is taken, +10% of the full amount you had before being arrested. Along with all weapons/items(except- if they have it- camera).
...as I said, hell to balance.

Bah you're right. PVP would be a nightmare. Carjacking would be a 4 man operation by the way you describe it, which is somewhat cool though.

Heh, yeah. Though, I'd be more inclined to make it about 500 players per City, for a 10 city game. That ends up being about 5,000 players- the amount the Servers could handle, probably. Or could tone it down to 8 and have the usual 4,000.
...I'd just want to see the intricacies of "The Godfather" played out in a MMO. That was my biggest wish in the mod Entropy- maybe it'll happen one day.
