I think that the old GL model should be made LMG <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
If you are talking about the 1.0 GL then I can give you a link to it. Cause NSA hosts a gl that was converted to an LMG. And good job with the LMG so far esuna <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

tri = triangle
a tri is a face with 3 corners most models in games are made of tris its what the computer processes to make the shapes/models you see in the game they are all put together by a bunch of triangles esunas model is made up of 1595 tri's which means it took 1595 triangles to make up that object the higher this number the more it affects performance
poly = polygon
a polygon is a face that is made up of 4 or more corners some of the new engines use these instead of tris for example if you have a square it counts as a single polygon but you can also make up that square with 2 tri's the half life engine builds everything of tris so it breaks squares, hexagons etc into triangles so this number is even higher
in summary the higher the number the worse performance <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

actually chron polygon is just a many sided shape (o baby remember that geometry in school hmmm hmm good)
therefore a tri and a rectangle are both called polys <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Love it, shall begin modelling it when i wake up tomorrow.
And for everyone else, i was stuck on the grip, everything i did looked crap as i've no experience designing weapons or ergonomics, so being sensible, i asked sheena to sketch me something. <3 Sheena.
EDIT: Yeah, i did employ a little creativity modelling this one since as you can see of the concept, it's not the best picture to model on. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
The render doesn't show it so well (due to lack of any smoothing groups at the moment) and also it could use a few more verts to smooth out the curves. So the second image is a edged faced view so you can see that it's not actually so bad.
I thought with this i was gonna go way over budget, but apparently i'm sitting just under 1400 poly (1395, to be exact), again, before some optimisation, which is good news. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
