Lucas will probably have it so that General Grevious guy kills him.

General Grevious? Sounds like a comic-book-action-hero if there ever was one. My, how Star Wars went down hill after the originals <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

If he's ANYTHING like the character in the Clone Wars miniseries, he's going to be so pwn your face will explode while watching the movie.

Yeah, the Clone Wars microseries reminded me that even if Lucas sucks, the Star Wars universe is still awesome, and can make for attractive, enjoyable entertainment (provided someone ELSE is behind the wheel!)

Grevious is the general of the Clone army. His own nature is something of an enigma at the moment... my best guess is a droid with a living central nervous system (so by technical definition, a cyborg). Regardless, he wields multiple lightsabers and in the Clone Wars micro kills off a dozen or so Jedi and Padawans single-handedly.

A point of agreement seems to be that he can wield as many as four sabers. I've seen artwork with him drawn with two arms that split at the forearms and terminate in four hands. I've seen what looks to be a movie reference model or CG render that depicts him with four complete arms. The Clone Wars drew him with only two arms, but he used his clawed feet as 3rd and 4th hands (there's a killer shot of him posed, facing down the last Jedi, balancing on one foot with three sabers held at the ready).

The concept is... interesting. I don't quite have faith in Lucas to do something worthwhile with it, though. It feels too gimmicky -- "how do we top a dual bladed saber? TWO sabers! How do we top two sabers?! ... MORE than two sabers!!!"

the main sound I remember hearing when Yoda was dancing about was amazingly loud laughter. It just didn't stop, it was so amazingly odd to see yoda like that... His character was torn in many directions that movie.

I wouldn't even bother there. Lucas has reversed his decision on that one series of novels 'recognised legitimately' before, so I doubt the Thrawn storyline will hold. It's the one thread I do hope stays, but I'm not holding my breath.

The one I still bemoan is the fact Jango died so easily, and from examination looks like his fight was fairly heavily cut before it reached screening. Yet it never appeared in the extended version.... <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Oh, and RE: Boba. It's because Boba Fett in the novels was originally named Jastor Mereel, a Justice from a backwater world who killed a man he had no right to because it was just. Basically imagine a law enforcer who originally goes bounty hunter to take matters into his own hands, and then over time becomes jaded and hunts for the sake of hunting.

    @ coil : Damnit, I made that joke first. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I haven't seen the second episode and I'm most definately not seeing the third. As far as I'm concerned Star Wars is the original three episodes and nothing more. Same with Terminator, I never saw three... Now if only I'd done the same with the Alien series and stopped at the second one...
  • CMEastCMEast Join Date: 2002-05-19 Member: 632Members
Whats wrong with the Matrix Series? The 2nd and 3rd may not be good for the same reasons that the first was but they're still great movies imo.

Terminator 3 is cool too, loved it when I watched it at the cinema and it was exactly what I wanted from the film, lots of action and explosions, a pretty girl and for once the story didn't seem to end with "We've saved the world and changed the future!" All we need now is the actual war and we somehow win it (but I don't want to see an Independence Day style 'virus that infects the main computer and cripples all the others" way or a Bill and Ted style 'in the future we will travel back in time and do something to help us in the situation we're currently in' scene. It was funny in B&T but it will just seem cheap in the Terminator series.

In fact, anything that solves the robot problem by taking out that one computer will be annoying. Maybe we could 'scorch the sky' forcing the robots to use us as a source of energy, the Terminator series leads on to the Matrix series!

    Full Name: General Grievous Shakar

    Gender: Male
    Height: 1.904 meters (default configuration)

During the legendary Clone Wars, General Grievous served as the leader of the Separatist droid army. Grievous was a cunning warrior who led the Separatists to many stunning victories over the Jedi Knights and the Old Republic military. You sir, are easily amused.

Matrix 2 and 3, simply just suck, both as sequels or stand alone movies.
The plots are ridiculous. (PS: Peace? Ha, gimme a break)
The actions are a bunch of unnecessary CG battle scenes, and I'm tired of it half way into those films.
Note to directors, you may be good entertainers, but philosophers you are not. Please don't try to teach philosophy in your films.

Everyone and their mothers can see the ending of Terminator 3 from miles away. And the actions are incredibly boring. I don't feel Connor's life being threatened at all in the whold damn movie.

Hmm yes Alien(s/3/ressurection) did go downhill. But I still maintain that the Alien3 'tunnels' scene towards the end is one of the best in any film ever.

Anyone seen AvP? Damn the Aliens and Predators look so good in it, but the story just seemed awful or something! Get ready for AvP2.

Hey, you know what <i>really</i> sounds like a joke? No? Here's a list.

Giant walking bear is a copilot on a freighter. His name is "Chewbacca."

Laser swords that deflect blast shots from guns resembling the German FG-42.

Crack Imperial Stormtroopers unable to hit anything at all.

Fuzzy teddy bears defeating an legion of the Empire's finest troops.

"I used to bullseye womp rats in my T-16 back home."

"I just felt a great disturbance in the force, as if a million voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced."

Giant space slugs hanging out in asteroids that have both gravity and an atmosphere in their belly.

A 3 foot tall green guy who talks like a crazy person but can levitate large objects with his mind.

A giant slug crime lord who lives in a palace in the middle of a desert.

A universe with like 2 black people.

You're telling me that a robot that carries four lightsabers sounds weird? Right. Okay. Sure.
