<div class="IPBDescription">Too cheap, or not too cheap...</div> you should really think about lowering the damage of the alien's poison gas...

or make a marine structure that purifies the air to get rid of poison gas...

or add gas masks.

i think its just way too cheap... here check for yourself

(all kills were made by poison gas in under 10 min)

    yea, it's pretty much your fault for letting them get 3 hives. Once they get 3 hives they are suposed to get their best attacks.

    Yea, I agree with you, that gas is more annoying than nades. It is hard to get away from and can damage a lot of things in a large area. But, they do have a point, letting the aliens get 3 hives is a bad thing. I would just like to see the damage of that attack decreased, or the energy needed for it each time to use it increased. Hey, the aliens do get Onos.

    It's not because the alien is too powerful it's just because the marine players are inexperinced, that's their fault. There's really no need to lower the spore clouds's dmg, its fine as it is. Remember Lerks are pretty weak just get HMG and shoot the little **obscenity**. It's not that hard.

    There we go. What about siege vs. their buildings? Aliens can siege "players," marines can siege buildings.

    it does matter when you have just one alien taking out all the marines as they spawn so theres noone to defend the base. even from the skulks!

    If there are that many skulks and gas and stuff in your base. Consider yourself screwed anyway, if you've got no turrets shooting those skulks you should blame yourself.

    while were at it lets get rid of gernades and siege turrets. oh and better get rid of HMG and Bile bombs and acid rockets..
    actually Lets just get rid of all weapons in this mod and turn it into THE SIMS®, just one giant friggin chat room.

    last I checked, spores dont go through 230760298290342569568956879657803 feet of solid rock and instagib anything that spawns into the area... like skulks trying to spawn in to defend their base, or gorges placing a chamber in some remote part of the map.

    im over it. its just hard to quit a game when you think you can still win, but your teammates are obviously stupid and don't listen to a single thing you say, be it a suggestion of strategy, a requesting backup at a resource node, frantic calls for help at a hive under seige... and to have [bleep]ing marines doing nothing but inching forward bit by bit, building nothing but seige towers, and there's not a damn thing you can do about it since you can never get backup, and are insta-gibbed by the HMG's, which kill in one hit which is RETARDED and....

    Spore cloud should be left alone. It is a 3 hive abilitie and it actually doesnt do much damage unless stacked up. although it can be a pain when its all over your base, your probably gone anyway if they get that far. The only thing bad about spore cloud is it does promote a sort of marine spawn camping just to rack up kills from a ledge thats impossible to get out of cloud and shoot at the lerk at in time to save yourself and that person (the lerk) may not even try to win game. However an onos or fade will probably come along eventually and end the game anyway <!--emo&::onos::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tiny.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='tiny.gif'><!--endemo--> .

    I've found that stepping out of the gas cloud usually solves the problem of taking damage from it.

    Keep this in mind: you're taking a freshly spawned, 0 cost marine and putting him up against an enemy that represents at least 33 RP invested in morphing, plus enough gameplay time and fighting for them to have secured the RPs and the territory to get all 3 hives up and running. Hell, if it weren't for spore clouds, getting INTO some of the "we're **obscenity** and backed into a corner" Marine bases i've seen would be impossible.

    Its a level 3 ablility. They have that, unless the marines are highly skilled, you arn't comming back from that. However I have seen it happen. Sometimes, that lone marine that manages to escape the carnage at his base, run to a undefened hive, set up a new base, and procede to take out the hive, well, that makes it so satisfying <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

    As they say the spore cloud is not a problem, The Fact you let them get 3 hives is the problem, Rare is it ever that any Marine teams come back from loosing the 3rd Hive

    WTF ARE YOU THINKING ABOUT TAKING ALIEN WEAPONS AWAY?!?! (sry for caps) OMG.. people really should stop complaining about all their problems... the game is VERY balanced as it is now I believe... if something is pwning your team it is either : A) Other team has better leadership B) It was your own dumb fault. C) You just suck.


    So getting rid of spore clouds or seige turrets would be a crappy idea.. leave the game alone...only tweaking would be stuff like getting stuck in buildings...weapon rate of fire (none that I can think of) ...resource problems...but all in all, seeing as the mod is 1.01, it's doing VERY well in my opinion.     lol k i had to register for this one.
    this is what i did: i joined the game late and we had all three hives so i went lerk. then i went into the vent that over looks their spawn. (they can weld this vent shut at anytime in the game and close it off for good but i guess they never thought about it). i had lvl 3 regen, adrenaline, and cloak. i would shoot umbra once then shoot spores everywhere and repeat. if i got injured id retreat down the vent a bit and regen. after awhile i had a fade up there too with me and he was using my umbra to his advantage also.

    If you have a lerk in the vent acid spamming:

    JP + Welder (if umbra) + Healthspam = Dead Lerk
    Let's compare the cost....
    JP = 9, Welder = 10, Healthpacks = ? (depends on skill of marine)
    Lerk = 33 + 6 (upgrades) + evolution time (during which he can't help the team) + marines allowing 3 hives

    I would say it's a fair deal, hmm?

    3 hives means good game regardless of gas... be it by the invincible onos (since your un experienced i doubt you got 3/3ups) or the bile bomb of a fade. Lets complain about the effectivness of turreNts now shall we?
