or make a marine structure that purifies the air to get rid of poison gas...
or add gas masks.
i think its just way too cheap... here check for yourself

it does matter when you have just one alien taking out all the marines as they spawn so theres noone to defend the base. even from the skulks!
while were at it lets get rid of gernades and siege turrets. oh and better get rid of HMG and Bile bombs and acid rockets..
actually Lets just get rid of all weapons in this mod and turn it into THE SIMS®, just one giant friggin chat room.

yes... quite an imagination.
last I checked, spores dont go through 230760298290342569568956879657803 feet of solid rock and instagib anything that spawns into the area... like skulks trying to spawn in to defend their base, or gorges placing a chamber in some remote part of the map.

im over it. its just hard to quit a game when you think you can still win, but your teammates are obviously stupid and don't listen to a single thing you say, be it a suggestion of strategy, a requesting backup at a resource node, frantic calls for help at a hive under seige... and to have [bleep]ing marines doing nothing but inching forward bit by bit, building nothing but seige towers, and there's not a damn thing you can do about it since you can never get backup, and are insta-gibbed by the HMG's, which kill in one hit which is RETARDED and....

Keep this in mind: you're taking a freshly spawned, 0 cost marine and putting him up against an enemy that represents at least 33 RP invested in morphing, plus enough gameplay time and fighting for them to have secured the RPs and the territory to get all 3 hives up and running. Hell, if it weren't for spore clouds, getting INTO some of the "we're **obscenity** and backed into a corner" Marine bases i've seen would be impossible.

Its a level 3 ablility. They have that, unless the marines are highly skilled, you arn't comming back from that. However I have seen it happen. Sometimes, that lone marine that manages to escape the carnage at his base, run to a undefened hive, set up a new base, and procede to take out the hive, well, that makes it so satisfying <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

WTF ARE YOU THINKING ABOUT TAKING ALIEN WEAPONS AWAY?!?! (sry for caps) OMG.. people really should stop complaining about all their problems... the game is VERY balanced as it is now I believe... if something is pwning your team it is either : A) Other team has better leadership B) It was your own dumb fault. C) You just suck.
So getting rid of spore clouds or seige turrets would be a crappy idea.. leave the game alone...only tweaking would be stuff like getting stuck in buildings...weapon rate of fire (none that I can think of) ...resource problems...but all in all, seeing as the mod is 1.01, it's doing VERY well in my opinion. All kidding aside, the fade really does rock down against a team of medium skilled marines with a below-average commander..but who says the aliens are to blame for that? <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
this is what i did: i joined the game late and we had all three hives so i went lerk. then i went into the vent that over looks their spawn. (they can weld this vent shut at anytime in the game and close it off for good but i guess they never thought about it). i had lvl 3 regen, adrenaline, and cloak. i would shoot umbra once then shoot spores everywhere and repeat. if i got injured id retreat down the vent a bit and regen. after awhile i had a fade up there too with me and he was using my umbra to his advantage also.
JP + Welder (if umbra) + Healthspam = Dead Lerk
Let's compare the cost....
JP = 9, Welder = 10, Healthpacks = ? (depends on skill of marine)
Lerk = 33 + 6 (upgrades) + evolution time (during which he can't help the team) + marines allowing 3 hives
I would say it's a fair deal, hmm?
