My mom is an honest person.
I got my drivers license a week ago and my mom called the insurance company to se how much adding me to the plan would cost. Those sneaky bastards supposidly have a pollicy that If I'm living in the house I have to be on the bill.
It was $84 a month for my mom, without her permission they added $200 to cover me because of policy. Now she doesn't have enough money and the insurance company will automatically debit her account, costing an extra $200 that's not in there. I'm really **** off at this because they did her behind her back without telling her. She said no about adding me and they did it any way!

Evil, yes. Honest, technically true. Wrong? Eh, most of the time, the "teenager" will be "borrowing" the car anyway, and they need to protect themselves.
This is just the first step to becoming a real "citizen" of the world. Prepare to get shafted more and more as you get older.

If thats what they did, raise hell with their PR department. Whats the worst that can happen, they drop you from the plan? They can't force you to pay when you fight saying that you never said that, pushing them to bring back the audio recording they supposedly *always* have on for "quality assurance".
Sorry to hear it, man. If I may, I reccomend AIG. I was added to my parents for only $90 a month, compared to most of my friends' $240-400 a month. Ouch.

The man makes a good point Caboose. I hate to see you get beaten around by this kinda stuff, I hate to see anyone have that happen to them, cause I've known what it is like to be short on money. But the contract spelled it out, and you have to remember that the person you can trust the most in the world is yourself. "Unbelieveably good deals" like this are often just a precursor to a 'fine print' mess. It's part of what it means to be in a capitalistic society, the trickery must route itself through more subtle means.
Consider, if you will, advertisements in most retail stores. Ever wonder why certain signs are certain colors, why the layout of the store is such that some items are placed in the front and others in the back, while the selection of those with the highest prices happen to be the best while those with the lowest prices have the least to choose from? Why is a clearance rack often badly maintained, giving it an unappealing appearance?
Can you be angry with company that did this to you? Sure, if you want. But remember to reserve just some of that anger for yourself, so that the next time you cut a deal with someone on paper, you check the paper with a fine tooth comb.
And I thought my $376 for 6 months was a good deal (I'm 20 years old).
Yeah you do, multiply that by ten and add $200 more, and you are where I am at, as far as myself and my mother.
But on-topic, that is lame. But I agree, either take it up with their PR department, or just take it. You can't blame them for covering themselves.

Gonna be one of them weekends.
Mate of mine had his mobile phone insured with carphone warehouse then o2 rang him and told him they would do his insurance for free. But he had a contract with carphone warehouse so he cancelled it by telling the bank that they arn't allowed to take money out.
70$ a month (I think) for myself.
Thats lame dude, you didn't authorize it at all... I take it to a higher authority or something, in short, cause hell.
That's actually what happened to me... I hit 25 (jeez, it feels weird saying that.. where did 22, 23, and 24 go?!) and the one accident I was involved in at 17 fell off my 7-year insurance-company record. Insurance rates dropped like a rock.
