Omg... you guys. You're bringing tears to my eyes as I remember my days back in SG. Even though I am pretty well versed in english, I did use Singlish a lot back there, mainly cause its how everyone else speaks. Well actually it depended on what the person I'm speaking to is using. If he's talking in Singlish, I'd use Singlish, if not I'd be all proper english speaking like.
I don't really have a problem with using Singlish as long as its in the correct context. It's when other Singaporeans use singlish without consideration to others who are unable to understand it that I want to take a beating stick to people. That gunbound comic is a good example really.
Hmm come to think of it I actually still do use singlish even here when I'm speaking with my sister. Bad habits are difficult to shake.

Well no but its not that rare to hear it. I use lah more. Not at home though, I sort of switch between good english and not so good english depending on who I'm speaking to.
What's the general policy on grammar and spelling here? <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd-->

This is so true. Of course, I'm a halfy. <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd-->
That doesn't really suprise me much. It's just like how tons of Indians from India choose to learn English just because they can, even though they don't have that much motivation to do so. (At least the ones who probably won't work in jobs that having anything to do with external affairs.)
Umm, what?
wols!~!!
Judging from his english I would say he needs to...
