Absolutely Astounding

could this happen to ns?
This is slightly off-topic, but can be linked to NS so I thought I'd post it here.
http://www.rasterwerks.com/dev.public/phos...alpha_4_248.htm (requires flash, and an extra plugin is useful but not needed, it should prompt if you need).
I can't really describe how amazing this is, but it's flash.
Can you imagine what NS would be like on this?
Let me know what you think of it!

That performs beautifully on my machine, but I question how amazing it would look when 16 or 26 other people got involved.
( I don't question that it's only a matter of time before that too would look amazing -- as computers just get cooooler and coooooler as time goes on )
Thanks for sharing. That's very interesting.
There is one more plugin that can be used, but doesn't seem to be essential. It will prompt you to get it.
Very impressive considering that, but I don't understand why you would want NS ported to it... It's a nice gimmick and I'm sure you can make some great Shockwave games but it doesn't hold a candle to something like Source and is probably less functional than even the HL engine...
It's a cool demo for Shockwave, but it's nothing revolutionary, at all.
Share And enjoy!
that and it'd probably be easier to import all the levels and models over from half-life to a "native" engine.

What does it do? I used it but nothing seemed to happen.
Yeah, I remember playing a crappy little Shockwave FPS where you were stuck on a ship... or something. Looked similar to that one, but ran really slowly, and the controls were atrocious. But it was definitely just as 3D as that one was.
Holy **** man. Excellent. We need to see more internet games like this and less lame flash games.

There's quite a few addictive ones there, though I haven't been to the site in forever so I don't remember which ones :S I do remember an Aliens-esque one (also an FPS) being on there somewhere...
Now Im gonna have to re install UT GOTYE !!!

I didn't wanna go install Unreal Tournament GOTYE after
playing it, but I did feel like firing up UT2004 and running
some people over.... Just me I guess.
you dont.
the second number is max ammo AFAIK
Edit: Nevermind, just saw the server options...
It's just really accessible. That's why the concept of an advanced game like NS being on something like this (which is, at this point, probably impossible) is kind of cool.
Something uniquely cool about launching an IE window, connecting to a site, and then being in the game. I don't think anyone seriously wants NS "ported" to this, it was just a neat "imagine if..." concept to think about.
And it is a cool concept. =P

I couldn't put my feelings about the game into words before I read this. Now I can.

It's not flash, it's shockwave apparently. Shockwave has a built in 3d engine, or so the good folks here say.
