Ewoks were to lure the girlfriends of nerds to the movie.
I just plain don't like old movies (the first starwars movies ARE TO OLD TO ME!) but the acting licked balls in ep1 and ep2... A bounch of whiney kids running around screaming "IF I don't get my way...!"

As a matter of fact I'm curious as to how Anakin turns evil, it's pretty obvious what Palpatine is going to do in this movie but it's anyone's guess what Anakin will be doing. I really hope it isn't lame.

No offence guys but I've never understood people's obsessions with movie age ratings. "omg it's only pg it will suck!". Um... no. Nor does a higher age rating actually make things better.
If I'd listened to one of my uni friends on this 'sage advice' I wouldn't have discovered my all-time favourite anime because the first film of it that came out in this country was a PG. I didn't know what it was but thought the title's artwork looked nifty and he sorta leaned over my shoulder said "that's a pg, it'll suck". I bought it anyway because I was intrigued and I've loved slayers ever since, as does said friend :p
I thought ep I and II were boring, dull and amazingly disinteresting. I wasn't a huge fan of the first 3 episodes of muppets in spac- uh starwars, either though; but I will admit they were better than the last recent incarnations :3
No, in the very very very very original, before the first vhs, before the second, third, ect. vhs, before the dvd, Han shot first. Come on, seriosuly folks. Greedo, a trained bounty hunter, shooting and missing at that range, with his weapon out? Give me a break. The whole reason Han undid his weapon was not to "Omg, I guess I'll let him shoot me first, then I'll shoot him." It was to shoot Greedo first. But, sadly, Lucas edited that bit in. Because it would make Han look more like a cold blooded killer. And it really is a shame, because he is a smuggler after all. It really would have added to his character.
If you want to argue the point, Greedo shooting and missing was the beginning of the end, not the ewoks. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--> <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Why can't Lucas get James Cameron to direct the films?
Well a least there's some good thing coming out of Episode I and II, a whole new generation actually got interested in the first three episodes.
I believed I was literally the only one person in my classes (highschool) and in my family that actually watched the first three episodes. I tried to get my older sis to watch them with me, the comments were "it's boring, it's bland, there's too much dark side this dark side that" (1995).
Then episode one came out, everyone in my class suddenly became Star Wars enthusiasts. I used to pride myself in being the only Star Wars nerd in the school, damnit. Now even my sister bought a the original trilogy boxset.
