Well, I was so busy because I was just starting a move when this thread got revived, and I'm in the last stages of the move now.
I normally use MS3D and LithUnwrap for my work, but neither the .3ds or .obj work with MS3D (pic below of the .obj). I got a not-at-all-legal copy of Max, but I can't get the keygen to work. I think maybe it has something to do with my desktop here, so I'm gonna try installing it on my laptop. Maybe I'll have some work to show in a day or two.
I got Max7 installed on my laptop, and I started looking at the model. I noticed a few things I think should be fixed, or at least get reasons why they're there.
<a href='http://www.snappycrunch.com/ns/pre-releases/hpa/HPA-problem1.png' target='_blank'>Screenshot 1</a> - This is a screenshot of the underside of the armory, and you can see missing faces at <span style='color:blue'>the top of the center pillar</span>, and <span style='color:purple'>where the outer legs meet the upper body</span>.
<a href='http://www.snappycrunch.com/ns/pre-releases/hpa/HPA-problem2.png' target='_blank'>Screenshot 2</a> - This screenshot shows missing faces <span style='color:purple'>where the outer legs meet the upper body</span>, and <span style='color:red'>inside the vent housing</span>.
It looks like the holes in the upper body are meant to be there. That is, it looks like you intentionally put them in. My question is, why? They only thing they can do is let you see through the model when you're looking at it from below. Did you mean to make it an indentation and forgot to fill it in? I'm just confused by it is all.
Well ill check against my model but i know that it shouldnt be like that. I cant remember tbh m8. I think i left the vents there to lower the polycount somewhat and i dont know about the rest.

Hmm. Still working on it. Life's crazy that way. I'm going on a road trip for a few days, and I'll have time to work on the meshing during the trip. I'm still thinking about it regularly, and I'm making progress, but it'll be done when it's done.
