Battlefield 2

I played it.
Iam back, back from the Boomtown netcafé running the pre-release of BATTLEFIELD 2.
Me and my buddies got our names noted, and sat down in the comfy black chairs.
After a bit of teamspeak trouble, we launched the game.
Watched the intro, as it rock. Then i sat up an account and joined my team's testserver.
The graphics were upgraded, ragdoll was implimented, it was there, right infront of me.
After a short time of teamkilling and pointless artillery strikes (wich totally rock!) we started the real match. As told, the map adjusted after our relativ small amount of players. As mentioned in the BF2 DEMO thread, it's so much easier to hide in the grass/bushes. I loved playing as the Anti-tank role (Wich have a automatic rifle by the way) and blast away any passing vehicles - or throwing sticky C4 on 'em as the SPEC OP class.
Our team as the other, were left with a small arrangement of light tanks, a bigger tank (Abrams) Some desert patrol vehicles, and a couple of trucks.
Having laid a tactic we all knew what to do, and moved to our designated flags or points.
Did not really use the "HUD-menu". With us communicating over teamspeak there were really no use of it. The sniper class kinda sucked, (in the maps we played, anyway) so i stuck with the Anti-tank/SPEC OP classes.
Now the artillery strikes you can call in are infact pretty neat. Not really overpowered, nor impossible to neutralize. On the maps, often near the team's spawnpoint/base, were several artilleryguns set up. Not mannable - but destructable!
A couple of C4 charges was enough to take out one of these heavy guns.
Besides the artillery strike, the commander could call down a UAV to scan, making enemy units within range show up on radar. And there were a sat. scan.
Both very useful. But as the artillery, these "special abillities" could also be neutralized by destroying a component linked to the "abillity" (Like destroying a radar, located in the enemy base, would stop the scannning)
I did get to try some planes and some helicopters. They were nice too. Like the anti-air guns, with the new LOCK-ON system, taking down one of the airborne units has become not only somewhat easier but also more fun. The air units, got flares against this though.
My team won, big time - several times. I won a BATTLEFIELD2 cup (Picture)
And even better, a copy of Battlefield 2 wich will ship to my mailbox the day it comes out.
Iam pretty excited about this, won all those matches. wohoo.
Feel free to ask me questions, if you have any

For the price i payed to play it, and win it, i also got a free sandwich and a Cola. Neat.
Who cares about the cup?
Give me your free sandwich and Cola!
*crys*
Oh well, less than 24 hours till the demo comes out.
It actually works pretty well, when coordinating those strikes ofcourse. Eliminating your attack squard with a teamkill artillerystrike, is kinda the way to defeat. (and loads of kicks under and above the table). You choose to go commander, if several players want to commander - it's voting time. (pageup or pagedown)
Time to research.

... and yes my good man, i do rock. Hard.
Ya commander, is it like NS or what?
And by Soldiers reacting, i mean like in battlefield '42/V how they make faces and stuff, did u notice anything like that?

US troops against the bad guys, China or the 'Merc' (fearslain facialexpression) There were actually a difference between the nations weapons. Not like desert combat, were it's mirrored over, and remodelled.
Haha, the scoreboard slammed up on a white wall, actually said "Axis vs Allies Round 1"
no more dodging!

Hahaha, yeah i actually DID notice that, a couple of times. The enemy team (team 3) had a sniper on like, the tallest building in the whole map. He had a couple of nice clean hits, and was starting to get annoying and pretty hampering to our assaults. So i found a couple of ladders and staircases, got up to him. Decided to knife the infidel. He hear me and turn around, damn what a face Like a mix between the Balrock (sp?) and the father from Freddy got Fingered. SO ANGRY!!!
Then i jammed my knife into his face and watched the ragdoll hit a couple of streetsigns , before slamming into a wrecked car. They DO express, some emotion - to a point.
no more dodging!

Why did you use Teamspeak? The game has voice built in...
And lastly, how the hell did you get to play it anyway? Was EA having some special event at a cyber cafe? Was it the demo, or the full thing?
Did you happen to play the map that's coming out in the demo (Gulf of Oman)?
And the thing I've wondered about the most: We've all seen the ragdolls, but how are client/server dependant physics, if there are any? Does your tank come to a complete stop when hitting a street sign still, or can you actually run it over now?
oh by the way, if you get hit (deadly) you can be revived by a medic. Ofcourse, if you get hit by a shot to the face, or blasted by a tank, it's of no use. The medic can't revive a soldier damaged to heavily. It tells you your condition when you are "dead" wounded - deadly wounded or just plain DEAD.
/me asks* dad to preorder
/dad says hes getting me a Dual layer DVD-RW 16X and that i can buy my own darn* game
*Isnt what he said fully.

Yeah i was the squard leader, eaisier to locate the squard members.
Yes i noticed, but the ambient noise from the other players was loud, making headsets/microphones needed even when not ingame.
I actually didnt get the story behind it. Maybe a deal between EA and the Net café, don't know.
Yeah i played Oman.
I don't know, i didnt compare the ragdolls on my comp, to the others. Something leads me to belive they actually were serverside.
And yes, my tank ran over a couple of streetsigns You hit the sign, and it dosnt stop your tank.
Hurray!!!
What about the ingame flight?
Fly anything?
Hurray!!!

yup!
Flew a plane, i was kinda missing my joystick. But it's actually not hat hard flying with the keyboard-mouse combination. You can reach insane speeds if you let the power loose. I was targeted a couple of times, by anti-air heatseeking missiles. The first 2 i threw flares on. The next 2 was kinda hard to shake off, but i did - ´thanks to my 1337-ace pilot skills. Go for flying trough streets in building-height, or upside down.
The helicopter has 2 seats. One for the piloit who can fire missiles and ofcourse fly the damn thing. And another seat for the gunner, the guy that controls the minigun, and the TV-guided missile (Simi-controlable after launch). Air-to-air combat rocks, a mixture of missiles and regular gunning.
Well i guess they were... medium-to-high spec. It ran very smooth, no fps loss or anything at any time. I also have a feling that it won't take as much computerpower as everyone screams about.
But do you think you can post specific specs:
Processer
Gfx card
Ram
Note: that really wasn't sarcasm.
