Crossfire in general (eg, the cards and everything i'll need to use em)

You aren't going to find any info really, it is all just technical demos, nothing the user can buy.
Not to mention there is no guarntee that crossfire is better then the SLi.
Stick with the 6800GT I would try BFG since they do offer the lifetime warranty and it is naturally overclocked so if it messes up its their fault, not yours. I know ATI doesn't offer that.

One last thing I would suggest: do you have fans for your CPU/GPU? I'm getting these ([<a href='http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16835118115' target='_blank'>link</a>] [<a href='http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16835118117' target='_blank'>link</a>]) for my computer (when I build it) and these come highly recomended; you might want something similar if you plan on OC'ing your rig.

Bullethead I was referring to the fact they come from the manufacturer as over-clocked which is why they offer the lifetime warranty, its so you dont' have to worry about messing anything up.
One of the major selling points of a graphics card is how well they are willing to back up their products, especially an over clocked one.
Pfft.. I have owned four of their cards... never had any issues.
I think you might have done a shoddy job overclocking it yourself, they do it for you so you don't have to worry about issues, which is the point myself and someone else was making.
The Abit Fatality isn't a very good motherboad, why the hell are you plugging that in?
The DFI nForce4 LAN Party SLI-Ultra and the Epox 9NPA+ are currently the best s939 motherboards out there.
As for RAM, since overclocking is a non-issue, PC3200 will be the best RAM. You should consider upgrading to 2 gigabytes for some other games. For the video card, right now we're in a transition period. NV45 is already out in the form of the 7800GTX, but prices on last generation hardware still haven't dropped yet.
For dual-core, there's nothing like being able to rip a dvd WHILE playing a game at the same time and notice no slow-down. Plus, developers will shift to multi-threaded applications in a few years, and if you're getting it now, you might as well get a dual-core CPU.
If you aren't overclocking, just stick with the stock heatsink and thermal paste (AS5 will decrease temperatures from 1-3 celsius, not that much, but every celsius helps ONLY if you are OCing), and I would have suggested the Thermalright XP90 or XP120 if you were overclocking. Thermalright makes the very best air heatsinks, hands down.

If you were going the SLI route (something which I do not recommend), the Epox 9NPA+ does NOT support SLI. The DFI board does, and is a slightly better one, albeit at a 40% price increase.
If you're going 6800GT SLI, just buy a 7800 GTX (better image quality and can scale better at larger resolutions). Alternatively you CAN wait for a cheaper dual core A64 (350 USD MSRP) AND wait for the 7800 GTXes to go down in price. It won't be that long.

they may cover THEIR part... but if it causes electrical migration (I've HAD THIS HAPPEN BEFORE) it could short out other parts
