To add to that list, I would heartily reccommend Grant Morrison's current All Star Superman run. Go. Read it. Now.

The Dark Knight Returns...
That was a great graphic novel. Ever read the sequel?

BTW, the huge commando robot suit that Batman was wearing was kind of necessary for beating Superman. Along the same lines, Iron Man could probably take out Superman, too...provided he had someone shoot a kryptonite arrow at Superman first. (Or modify Iron Man's suit to run on krpytonite lololol!!1. Instawin.)

Love Grant Morrison, hate Frank Quitely's art style. No sale.

I used to be with you on that one, but Quitely's work on We3 and All-Star Superman has made me love the guy.

Actually, now I just realized that I did buy All-Star Superman #1 for the sake of Grant Morrison. Still hated Quitely's work but wanted to give him a shot, didn't work. His humans are just too ugly for my taste. I think I'm cursed, my least favourite artists keep getting paired with the writer I loved.

Wolverine hasn't aged past mid-life and he's way cooler than Superman.
