If you want to, but she's not going to be happy, and more importantly the big daddy isn't going to be happy. The little girls drink the corpse juice because they can reprocess the Adam, making it useable. It's the only way for them to survive.
Man, I wish I was leet enough to do isometric pixel art.
Anyway, I think I'll avoid killing the little girls, unless I really need some Adam. I mean, they don't exactly warm your heart. And I really, REALLY don't want to have to fight the Big Daddies.

Bioshock is gonna be good. But knowing it comes for console too, i fear that the pc version will be crowded with big fonts and annoying menus and other consolish kiddiness features, like in Schmoblivion.

Oh god, now you've just made me sad in the event that it DOESN'T have coop. I totally wanted to spray my friend with those "attack me" hormone-things. Instant hilarity.
Jeez that would be so spectacular. Someone has to start some sort of petition to get us some coop in our Bioshock.

I don't know why, but in any video game, I always play the bad guy. Just seems so much more logical, both in character and out. Looking forward to Bioshock 2 (BS2 gte it? ololo).
On a relatively unrelated note, was anyone else hugely dissapointed by oblivion? I know the NS forums missed it's release and I don't feel like starting a new topic.
Whether to kill the kids or not isn't going to be a moral decision for 99.9% of players.
It's all going to come down to a simple formula. How much resources it will take to kill the kid+ the 'big daddy', how much to heal yourself after. Then we see how much we get from the snot nosed brat. Subtract the former from the latter and if we end up with positive result it's gonna equal lots of dead kids.
Unless there is a way to get it from them with out killing them and early in the game too. I wouldn't wait till I'm half way throught the game to start collecting a paltry amount of Adam(aww just call it nanobots) when I could have had lots all along.
I will all come down to what's most efficent. If NOT killing the little girls will net you more $, they will live.
If smashing their brains across the floor will get you more $, they are all going to die.
I've yet to see a game where the 'moral' descison was worth bothering with. It's usualy pass or fail if it is actualy there(i.e. acting wrongly has harsh penalties and isn't worth it) or you just need not to get caught.
If this game is more complex than that, I'll be VERY surprised.

I'd be suprized if there weren't consequences to ending her when she's not clearly the enemy. However, you won't know those consequences until at least one time through the game... so it's hard to say. I imagine the first time through most players will play somewhat lost and likely not kill the girl, after that it will come down to strict formulaics like you describe. Hell, I may have a moral compass but that doesn't mean I'm not going to try going through the game at least once on a murderous rampage.
Swift, if by story driven you mean you can actualy talk to her and such. Well then fine. But if you mean story driven like System Shock 2 was ( you find out what's going on, but don't talk to anyone) then she's worm food.
Actualy being able to talk to peple in the game makes them more believable. No real interaction just makes them targets.

I never killed a Barney for ammo. They're too nice. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />
Hah, I remember the first time I played Half Life. I got to that part towards the beginning when you have a Barney with you, and you have to crawl through a little vent to continue. And I looked at the vent, looked at Barney, looked at the vent, looked at Barney's gun, and then beat that poor man to death with a crowbar for his weapon.
I'm thinking they're just playing stuff close to the chest; I seriously doubt they'd actually release the game with only like, 4 enemy types or whatever. Only time will tell.
Well, from the media I've seen, and a little personal extrapolation on their theme...
I think there will be a very limited number of set enemy types. However, I think individuals within each type will have vastly differing capabilities.
My main support in this theory would be the fact that there're several Guardian looking enemies in released media shots... (Forget the term for them... and the nickname "big daddies" strikes me as silly...)
There's also the fact that they've stated they want to create a sort of AI ecology. This would allow them to make minor characters out of entities that could otherwise be glossed over as standard NPCs...
So, it's possible enemies have a similar variance that the player can have. (Although I sincerely doubt the upgrades will be fully represented in the enemies.)

I think you'll find they are working very hard to make sure that won't be the case. They honestly aren't going to dump PC users in the gutter this time.
