EvE Trinity
So, for anybody who hasn't heard the new expansion for EvE is coming out (as in, the server is in downtime right now while it is deployed). It includes a new graphics engine and new ship/station models. They made a page specifically for it which includes sceenshots: Trinity. Plenty of new ships and such as well. As always it's perfectly free as well.
So, yeah. What does everyone think? Anybody want a free 14 day trial?

Edit: Is Goonswarm even still around? They seem rather cryptic on the forums o.o
**edit**
Also, you should have used a more impressive picture, like thus:

done
and ta black mage.
hum it is giveing me a version error i take it they havent finished patching yet as there is no patch to download?
Also, the vast majority of the new ship models have been assembled here
In closing, be afraid, be very afraid.
tl;dr: That ship sucks and Eve has much prettier ones.
Nil_IQ, Yes, your corp makes all the differnece. However, like every thing in EVE it's about what you want, not joining the best corp according to some one else.

Except you linked to the same image both times.

Suddenly it makes so much more sense:)
(fix'd)
I saw a link on the front page of eve-onine.com, if not I can hook you up though.
And the game isn't that complicated, you just need to find a cool corp and they will show you the ropes.
We love new players, because they ask so many questions. (I worked customer service, answering the same questions again and again has been boiled into my blood! In a good way.)
I'm the CEO, so any of you from the NSF who apply will have their application granted.

In the beginning I'd recommend getting as many military related skills via character creation as possible. Guns are a good method of money production at the beginning of the game before you can afford expensive mining barges or whatever industrial related ships you might want.
If you want drones make sure you are gallente as well.
Premium content (the new graphics engine + new models) is downloaded from their site and is 526 mb.
Im confused, so what are you trying to say?
Im pretty sure that if somebody was referring to the pure file size of the update when saying it was "The biggest ever", they probably meant premium content included. Afterall they remodeled every ship in the game.... that's a lot of work.
I mean, they rarely add new ship models and all the other stuff is just code so ofcourse it's going to be a small file?
And to be honest, i didnt really get into it. I like space and sci fi as much as the next guy but everything about this game said to me "spend months doing chores/work, just to enjoy some pvp where you can lose all those months of work and start over".
The skill training system is time based, which is smart on CCP's part as it's a subscription game, so you are forced to spend alot of time in the game to get somewhere and that makes them more money and people even get 2 or more subscriptions to play other characters while their main is doing skills as you cant do skills on 2 characters on same account at the same time. (i think)
And the big corporations and all the trading and mining and stuff just makes it feel like you are on a virtual Wall Street, in space. Not that ive ever been to Wall Street, but you get the feeling you are in a financial RPG rather then a space battle MMO.
So, i dont think a graphics update and a few high level ships is really gonna make me want to come back and get a subscription.
I'm surprised to hear of a corp moving away from 0.0. I always heard that whenever anyone gets a taste of 0.0, they never go back to empire space. Of course I know very little about the game...
Hellbilly, I don't know how long its been since you tried it but they have made the early game stuff much much easier. I think my guy started with around 30,00 skill points and now the lowest you can start with is around 800,000
Also, the new pretties run pretty well on my not so stellar home boxen.(7600)
bm, It's not like you paid for the patch. And if you refuse to use the premium content ... I mean ... yeah.. \:
That said, In all of the infinite patch day wisdom ccp will be deleting you boot.ini file in some cases. so if you have installed premium content as a patch to old content, make sure boot.ini exists prior to restarting you computer. note that the company has now confirmed the is can happen in some cases on winxp where the game is installed to the os partition.
