I remember when there used to always be good recommendations for flash games on these forums, usually on a Friday. Maybe I haven't been paying attention as much, or maybe that creative period when great flash games were common has passed, but if you've stumbled on a good flash game recently please post it in this topic.
When you post your game it'd be good if you posted with the following information

Genre: Sports/Physics ( more physics really )
No registration required
Not strictly multiplayer, but the game runs in phases and you are ranked against everyone else playing.
I rate this game highly, once you get into it and can make long range shots before your recticle appears, you really get into a groove and start to rock the scores. I give it 7/10 for its simplicity but the physics feel right, which is a good achievement in itself.
Game: Auditorium
Genre: Musical Puzzle Game.
Rating: Awesome out of 10
No Registration Required.
No Multiplayer
I bought it after playing through the flash version, good purchase.
Genre: First-Person Jumpy-Shooty Thingy
Requirements: Relatively quick registration and installation
Multiplayer: Of course it's Multiplayer
It's friggin' Quake (III). Minus mods, plus incredible amount of polish, community features, neon, and weekly updates.
Assuming you somehow don't know what Quake series were about, <strike>you n00b</strike> apparently they adopt a love/hate sort of deal with their incredibly steep learning curve, twitch- and movement-based gameplay, leaning towards love for most FPS gamers over the years, and is very much the staple of the genre itself.
Genre: First-Person shooter
Requirements: Relatively quick registration (not required, used for saving progress) and installation of Unity plugin. Firefox for fullscreen.
Multiplayer: None.
Rating: 8 of 10. It only shows off a training program but the smoothness and graphics are top tier for a browser game. Also sports upgrades and tons of different training challenges. Preview of the actual game.
Genre: Platformer?
Requirements: A PC :p
Multiplayer: None.
Rating: 8 of 10. This game has 300 playable characters in it. The simple premise is that when you kill an enemy you can then choose that enemy as a playable character for the rest of the game. This applies to all enemies, even the final boss :p To complete the game defeat the 4 dragons and then kill the final boss. Might take a while to load but it's fun enough to merit the wait. It's still under development so pop back to it now and then for some fun changes. Also worth note is how things interact in unexpected ways (e.g. I was playing a creature that can summon other creatures, one of my summons got mind-swapped by a mindflayer, I killed the mind-swapped summon which was now an enemy and unlocked my summon monster as a playable character XD ) Give it a try, it'll kill some time if nothing else :3
that is all kinds of awesome :D
I mean, as a game it is severely lacking , but as something to screw around with it is awesome :D
You're doing it wrong. Dwarf Fortress.

You can get it, and 4 other pretty awesome indie games for 20 bucks. Totally worth it. No DRM, you can gift ones you already got, support Indie devs too! Only slight downside is the purchased version of Auditorium is still online, but it's so fantastic, who cares.
Also, it's kinda weird showing up on these forums after years and seeing people I know and no one saying HI to anyone else. That's just strange. Or y'all have said hi to everyone else. So I'm going to start saying hi to people i knew way back in the mists of time. It's been a long time, so apologies for not saying hi to people I should have, or wrongly assuming I knew you and saying hi.
WITH THAT CAVEAT!
HEY LOLFIGHTHER HEY GEM! HEY PUZL (actually, i'm not sure if I knew you, or I just recognize you because you're a dev)!
Genre: Shooter, I guess (it's like a side scroller only you stand still and they come at you, but you can move up/down).
Requirements:The ability to click the link.
Multiplayer: No.
Rating: 7/10. It's addictive and it looks good but there's not much too it other than "press S and W and hammer the mouse button". Plus there are some clipping problems between the vertical layers of zombies; you can aim at the head of a zombie directly in front of you, but hit the legs of the one "above" it. Which is annoying. Still addictive though.
Genre: All of them
Rating: varies... typically around 7-9/10 if you stick to the good ones
No Registration Required.

Armor Games has been pumping out solid quick Flash Browser games for a while. Looking at their top played/rated list is usually a good way to find some good ones. Of course, it's currently filled with 2 TD games, 2 point-click-shoot-defense games, a push-strat game, and a RPG..... but there's solid gems to be found. Also, it hosts games made by its own devs.
One of my favorites is This is the Only Level which kinda meta-games it up awesomely.
Game: Captain Forever
Genre: Space Shooter w/ RPG elements
Rating: 8 of 10
No Registration Required, but you can to unlock more stuff!
No Multiplayer
Fly around, shoot enemies, use the debris to build a more awesome ship of your own. Can be a little frustrating when every enemy keeps blowing up your laser cannons, and you learn really quick about making sure that you have enough engines, and overall it's a solid game. It just can get a little mind numbing.
Game (set): Kongregate
Genre: All of them
Rating: varies... typically around 7-9/10 if you stick to the good ones
No Registration Required, but register to unlock shiny stuff.
Multiplayer for several games
Another Flash Game website. However, this one boasts even MOAR GAMES plus some good meta games. Also, it has an entire section for multiplayer games.
It also boasts a kind of grown-up Pokemon game called Kongai developed and balanced by Sirlin, that jerk who wrote a bunch of articles on game balance and pro-level play and since hasn't said anything really interesting but is still one of the most cited "geniuses" of the gaming world. This one DOES require registration if you want to play the actual game, but you can do a few experimental runs against the AI w/o it.
~hug~
I think there was a 'welcome back' thread a while ago after a long silent period. That was last year though :p
I'm guessing this is flash... I didn't check but surely it's flash right? :p
Game: Record Tripping
Genre: Not really sure. Music game? Puzzle? Bizarre experience? :p
Requirements:A mouse with a mousewheel and a working hand
Multiplayer: No.
Rating: 7/10. The presentation of this game is mindblowing beautiful. I love it. The game itself is pretty clever and the mechanics are both unusual and feel something like using a DJ Hero controller to play a variety of games like marble madness, game & watch or whatever. Not sure how replayable it is if you're not a score junky but it's definitely worth a single completion at least =D
Genre: Oldschool Arcade
Registration: No
Multiplayer: No
Rating: 5/10
Shallow Missile Command clone. Fast pace and infinite missiles means that your best bet is to simply spam like crazy rather than trying to do the strategic detonations that characterised the original game.
So why play it? Because the soundtrack is great and kicks in in a novel way. More games need to do that.
Mainly though, I just needed a legitimate reason to make a post so I could say OMG HEY NITEOWL LONG TIME NO SEE.

been playing this like an hour, was lots of mindless fun until I crashed it :o I think I killed a monster that isn't playable or something, and the game didn't know how to handle it. birdman soldier is OP!
I don't think the game has any creatures you can't go so it's probably something else :3
It's games like Great Dungeon in the Sky that make me want to learn flash and make my own stuff.
The last game I played on Flash and quite enjoyed was one of Armor games's (which I just noticed spellman has linked :p ).
It's called 'Chibi Knight' in case anyone is curious and needs a light RPG fix, you can probably find it by hitting up spellman23's link (I played it on newsgrounds, but I don't see why they wouldn't have it on their own site :3 )

No, this is not really a browser game, but the awesomeness is off this world.
Game: Runman: Race Around the World
Genre: Platform / Reflex / Awesome
Requirements: Download, 22 mb

Rating: RUNMAN RUNMAN RUNMAN RUNMAN RUNMAN RUNMAN RUNMAN!
It's a platform racing and reflex game with music that could not fit the game any better. You run, jump, bounce and dive through levels as fast as possible, while avoiding things that will stop you and cause you to lose your momentum. Scoring enough points gives you medals and once you've beaten the whole game, every 20 medals you have unlocks a new character. This game is so awesome it makes me go :3
Genre: Sonic the Hedgehog

I rate it nice and fun for a simple concept
Genre: Strategy
Requirements: I have no idea.
Multiplayer: Browser based MMO
It's basically Astro Empires, in a medieval setting and all shiny. It's rather fun.
