i don't think it's that great of an idea. Making mini guns dual weildable makes it a bit of a "halo" weapon. If everything become dual weild it will lose that "holy ###### he has two miniguns" feeling.
I'm wondering exactly how one will go about using dual weapons. Will it be such that you press mouse1 and both weapons fire simultaneously, or will it be mouse1 fires the left gun and mouse2 fires the right?
While I'm not the biggest console FPS person I think that Halo 3 did a very nice job with its dual wielding scheme. Being able to independently reload either gun by pressing either LB or RB was pretty neat in addition to being able to choose which gun to fire with LT and / or RT.

I believe the most likely possibility is just both fire simultaniously on M1, but with games these days you never know. It's their own engine, so let's hope a Dev confirms that :).
You could probably Mod this into the game. Restrictions or cons should apply, like sacrifing your pistol or similar.

Main issue I see with that is that players can rebind alt-fire to something else, and it would be weird to have one gun bound to a keyboard button or something.
I've always wanted two welders or two knives at the same time. I really do hope ninja-ing an Onos will still be possible - even if that possibility is very, very small.

--Cory<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd--> I strongly hope you guys will reconsider and make them both fire on Attack1. As Zek mentioned, using a non-primary key for primary-like attacks is frustrating since most players have one key/button (i.e. LMB) that they will favour for attacking.

How about you just give players the option? I def would prefer them on one button, but I can see that some situations it might be better having them on two.
being able to fire both guns seperately means that while one is reloading you might be able to fire the second. That would be a reason why you need 2 keys for it.

I think it would be good to have the option to assign a single key to both weapons, but any reasonable person will realize the advantage in having separate fire buttons.
I use both mouse buttons for dual wielding whenever a game lets me because it means no reloads, in NS I would value that probably more than anywhere considering the reload downtime is one of the most vulnerable points for any marine.
I figure when dual wielding, you swap out the normal secondary function for increased damage/sustainable fire, which is kinda exactly why I like dual wield in games. If I want to use the secondary I just use one gun.
Besides assuming it isn't just for one gun, you should surely be able to mix and match? That lets you basically turn any gun into the secondary fire for your other gun, that alone merits two fire buttons.

Autoreload, you run out and it starts reloading that gun, but you can still shoot the other one.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see how it plays out.
Like Barnacles in HL, you stick your hand in them and squeeze some nerve ending and it shoots spikes.

whats the point then ??
