skulk looks like a dog, gorge looks like a pig, lurk looks like a bird, onos looks like a rhino, fade looks like a bear kinda. If anything the fade should look more bear-like in order to fit in better with the rest of the aliens.
The revealed Fade model makes him look "stupid" with his short jaw and bony head. He doesn't look menacing at all, and that's what the fade should be all about. I like how all the new alien models have a somewhat consistent look and I really think they are great, except for the fade. When I look at his face the first adjectives that come to my mind are stupid, slow, old and bulky. Those are not adjectives that should be associated with the Fade...

The design of the Fade in NS1 was the least consistent of all the other alien designs. It didn't really seem like an animal, just some humanoid-shaped <i>thing</i> with claws, weird tubes, and a flowery thing. That's what really stuck out about the design, and what the new design is missing. Combined with the new blink effects, the Fade doesn't seem like it should be an animal like the other Kharraa species. It should just be....a <i>thing</i>.

this is NS2 not NS1. it's a commercial product, consistency in art direction is more expected now than it was in the past. dont get me wrong i agree the fade looks goofy. i think it should maybe be a bit more bear-like, with shorter legs and a thicker neck/body.
Is it just me or does this fade feel small compared to the ns1 fade? Overall i dont hate this design although i wished the eyes were more non-human. The blink is awesome :D

How about making him look even more angry, while getting back to basics with the all famous <a href="http://www.unknownworlds.com/images/portal/nsbanner/banner01.jpg" target="_blank">Fade eye from Natural-Selection</a>? Thanks to Mr. Epic's liquefy skills, I could actually make this happen! I drew in his body a bit as well for good measure...

Everyone agrees the eyes look goofy because they look goofy, I really hope they fix the fade up to make him look a bit less like Barney and more like the Fade.
Overall, great. Love the animation, body shape, movement, blinking, swipe. The face needs a bit of a tweak, I think like everyone has been saying the eye's are pivotal. Less human/pupil and more foreign the better. Possible a thinner jaw might help as well.

His head does look a lot better smaller and streamlined.
