the problem comes also when it is bugs they know about and people complain that it wasent fixed cause they where trying to fix it already. thats also some of the problems of releasing too soon

Yeah it would be nice to at least get a look, i suspect NS2HD will put up a vid soon, anyway it's not like i don't have other stuff to do, i was just looking forward to it.
190 is very close to being finished guys and its pack with goodies. UWE is working hard to make sure that each build surpasses it's last and 190 will not fail in doing that.

nvm .. just trolling thread :D But still I would be glad if 190 will have control if server and client have same files (especially lua scripts)... ... because sometimes its weird when guy with 200 ping can aim / kill so precisely.
It won't be in (the upcoming) 190, and I'm guessing 191 will be reserved for the inevitable emergency fixes (for the massive 190), so perhaps 192\193 if we're very lucky.
i agree that it should be delayed. no one wants to playtest because the game mechanics haven't had a major change in ages. i would even say worst case just throw in whatever onos implementation you have right now and release it, b/c a buggy onos is still preferable to no onos at this point.

Build 188 addition of random starting locations, Mac mines, flame throwers setting surfaces on fire creating area of denial, fundamental re-work of power nodes, nano-shield, doubling of alien hive costs, god-mode added for whips + deflecting grenades and the removal of portable power packs, i don't know what else needs to be done to constitute a "major" change.
Quite honestly when i played 188 for the first time, starting in Tram hub, i felt like i was playing a new game. I know we all can't wait for the Onos, myself included, but lets not belittle the progress that has previously been done.

ok, but they still haven't solved the late-game stalemate except to make it almost a guaranteed marine win. sure, they added a bunch of new features, but the game still remains relatively the same. the only thing strategically that's changed is build order. you can change the early game all you want, but if there is nothing to advance to, no late game, it becomes literally stale, mate.
Ok so it's been a month since the expected and undelivered big Christmas update (now known as Gorilla), the small regular updates weren't particularly interesting, what i think everyone wants to know is will Gorilla be coming any time soon?
I just hope my prediction that the minor updates are an excuse to delay the big update doesn't come true, it doesn't have to be perfect, we just need something new to play, the lack of maps and content is getting really lame now, when will we see the end of 24/7 summit? The big update is suppose to improve on this with another map plus downloads, guys this game needs some variety badly!

Im only on about and interested in new features, content, maps, visible changes and improvements, a lot of delays seem to be due to the constant bug fixing and perfecting before general beta testers get to see anything, they need to realise it's ok to have the odd bug or imperfection, it's a beta test after all, so let us beta test things a bit more regularly, don't keep all the good stuff back for months on end when it can just as readily be played now, for example im sure the mineshaft map could have been released months ago, perhaps it was unfinished but was it playable? i bet so.

Like I said, there is no delay, the devs simply decided to release a few patches 190-193 on the way to Gorilla... Just to get some of the performance improvements and gameplay changes out to the public...

It was my understanding a lot of new content was expected around Christmas, since we didn't even get an update back then id like to know what's going on.

Then it should be on the radar...

I have to agree with acid here, it really shouldn't matter if the Onos is coming out or not.
You will see a lot of performance issues / previous bugs dealt with and new features. As per every build, the game mechanics does indeed change.
Have patience people and don't forget this is all for the greater good of 1.0.
Cheers,

We're not done with the Onos and Jetpack yet but we wanted to get an intermittent build out to you before then.
