Hmm, I am using an ATI Radeon HD 5850 with drivers from 11.06.2012. Updating to newer drivers won't change the driver number so I don't think they install perfectly. At the moment I am waiting for new drivers that will work better (I read something about not every driver will support my card anymore thats why).
I just tested summit on a few servers. That map was always the smoothest to play. But that is history. Can't even command. Literally everywhere green chessboard textures. Under hydras, all buttons, even the main menu changed to that. But anyways, at summit I get a new thing, it felt like my cpu was overloaded and needed 3 secs from time to time to process informations. Or it was fps drops not at around zero (freezing frame) but under 12 (slide show effect).
But there was one pattern in all that randomness, every time 4+ marines started to shoot at me the freezing came back at its best. I wonder if all this could be solved with an ultra fast cpu...

Looking into it.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd--> Frames per second are not created equal. 30 to 20 drop hurts much more than 60 to 50. If there are people that have vsync and and such frames are not limited it'll throw off the average. Furthermore, I'd like to know the median not average.

Was a smooth 60 fps until late game when everyone is in the same room, then it would drop to 30-50.
Now I get 40 fps early game on particular spots in maps (still 60 in others), while late game has become unplayable at 10-20.
I'm also getting major texture glitches now in random places, resulting in noticeable performance loss when it is present onscreen.
