i ddint expect that, thats all. i already feel the rotation of the maps boring after so many hours was expecting more that 2 maps and not with months apart. but whatever i guess custom maps is the only thing that can save me to get bored

COD maps are very simple aswell compared to NS maps.

Sure they can, but all the maps will look similar because they are using the same textures/color palette.
Biodome is adding (presumably) new textures/props, which will add more diversity.
if i cant even express my opinion in here why that hell even get a forum up.
About gameplay features: Keep going, NS2 gets better every time! Personally, I would like to see weldable doors and vents (only special one's and they might can be destroyed by aliens -- or not -- or optional via entity settings... I don't care) and even more stuff to do with the welder :-D Just an idea to get even more dynamics into the maps.
But I know that you are busy all the time, so... keep going and take your time. :-)
That's already happened. So far we've managed to get a whole six maps out of the existing art set. We're working on three new maps right now and each will have its own distinct art set so you'll see plenty of variety.

Free is unquestionably awesome in its own way, but I would be willing to pay, say, $5 per official map if it got them done on a more timely and regular basis.

Free they shall stay... Map packs tend to divide communities between the willing and the unwilling. Our calculation is that as people see more and more awesome stuff added to NS2 for free, more and more people will buy it at whatever price it is at the time. Thus keeping the lights on, and Dushan hooked up to his caffeine drip.
Do you want us to run out of money for Dushan's caffeine drip? Do you want him to DIE? No, didn't think so, so convince that friend to buy NS2! :D
