What does the CDT have to do with workshop problems? As far as I'm aware workshop download errors are out of their control.
To this point we kind of all agree that the workshop is a nightmare when it comes to mod hosting but there have been ideas around since the beta how to solve this issue. UWE never really took the time to face this because it was not really high priority. Beside that i know that certain uwe devs are as pissed about the workshop as every ns2 server admin and mapper out there.
So what's now:
There is a plan how to solve it as pointed out trello note here. But doing a change like this requires both a lot of time and manpower of coders. Let's not start to talk about the testing part of such a feature.
As the cdt is a team of volunteers who have all busy real lifes and jobs themselves, i have no idea when we come to facing this new mod system.
All i can tell ppl who are not satisfied with the "status" of this issue: Go code a solution yourself, be our hero and guest of honor if you come up with something working.
Until then please give us a break. There is no need to open the 10th thread about the same issue.
Did I miss something? (I often do)
@coolitic look at OP.
"CBT".
When the files have not yet been downloaded from workshop, there's not much that can be done with programming.
However "Missing required mod" could be changed to "Workshop timed out, do you want to run 3 retries?"
Stuff like that.
