Mod of the year
Gamespy (Yes, that company tyrant that 90% of the online world hates) is running a poll of the best mod of 2002. Wow. When I checked earlier today, Natural Selection was absolutely pounding the competition, holding arpund 45% of the votes while CS and DOD has a measly 15% a piece. I guess all the ignorant llamas woke up from their little nap and realized that their lamer paradises were being decimated by the RIGHTFULLY BEST MOD NATURAL SELECTION! Meh.

Heh heh, I kid, I kid. Just because you love CS or DoD doesn't mean you're an ignorant llama. That only counts for around 90% and 75% of the populations of each mod, respectively (gotta be PC after all). But I do think anyone who voted for CS And DoD is being a bit silly, as both have been around for quite a long time while not changing a whole lot while NS is brand spankin' NEW, fun, better looking, and just plain cooler than both.

But of course, tis only my opinion. Appears around 62.8% of the gaming community disagrees me.

And 98% of all statistics are made up on the spot. Or something

When I checked NS is at a healty 3rd place.

Assorted people don't like Gamespy for multiple reasons.

Some hosted sites or hosted cartoons like PVPonline have found some of the regulations and the enforcement of them to be less than convenient.

Some people preferred Fileplanet back in the day when instead of being in a waiting line or having to subscribe, clicking the download link would start downloading right then. (The lack of a wait line meant the download speed could vary greatly by traffic)

Other people liked the PlanetHardware site that was taken down. Others preferred the Daily Victim cartoon back when the previous writer and artist were doing it. Others preferred the more bare-bones Gamespy3D software to the more newbie-friendly Gamespy Arcade.

Then others who knew GameSpy even FARTHER back in the day don't like that Mp3Spy support literally ended despite how many people had paid for the registered version. It worked for awhile after the Mp3Spy's site had removed the download link, but then it just stopped entirely.

One way or another, a good number of people have some gripe about it. In some cases it's more warranted than others.

I really like Firearms, been playing since the beginning. I think the devs are starting to crack under the pressure. It is really good though, the MEDEVAC chopper has yet to be surpassed in coolness.

DOD is good, CS is boring, Firearms... (no comment)

    NS is the ****!

As nice as it is to see NS up there among DoD and CS... it pains me that TFC is nowhere to be found.
