My character left the habitat and effectively sank. In fact, I am standing on the sea bed 1270m down. Air is static, can't die or swim but I can walk :-( . . . It's boring down here. I have re booted game several times but game starts and I am sinking again. Validated the files on Steam, they were ok.

Use the console to get yourself a builder, 8 titanium, and 1 glass. Use the builder to create a foundation, a corridor, and a hatch. Step inside, then exit. You should be able to swim again.

You might have some trouble with flooding, but that doesn't matter. The game thinks you're still indoors, and all you need to do is exit the base to be able to swim again. Since you're too far from your actual base, a temporary base will be sufficient.

I'd also recommend using the console to give yourself unlimited oxygen while you swim back up.

Good suggestion but not possible. I landed in a flat, walled culley. At that depth, there is nothing there. Literally nothing, just rock and molten lava. The walls circle my landing site and are too high to get over.

In that case you still have three very good options.

The first one you should try is /warp me, which will teleport you to either the Cyclops, the Escape Pod, or your seabase, depending on which one you were last in.

Alternatively, you can teleport yourself to any biome using /biome [biome name] so you can use the temporary base technique.

If you happen to know the coordinates of your base (or if the other two options failed), you can use /warp [x] [y] [z] to teleport yourself home, or at least to coordinates that make it possible to use the temporary base technique.

I think TheF0CTOR has given some great advice here which should help to solve your proplem. I'd go with that advice if I were you.

You can also use [Kill] to teleport back to the Lifepod with your inventory intact
