Unable to play Subnautica - help!

Hello! Yesterday having watched someone streaming Subnautica for a while I finally decided to buy myself a copy of the game on Steam to try it out for myself. Much to my dismay though, I have been unable to get the game to work.

Essentially, when I start the game up for the first time (As in after a computer reboot) the game will load fine and make it to the main menu where I am able to select a game type to play. The loading screen shows up and I can see the image of the ship crashing as well as the loading data in the bottom left corner. The game then freezes at this point. I have once managed to get to the point where I was hearing the in-game sound on this screen however that is the furthest I have got having left the game on this screen for a considerable amount of time.

If I then close the game after this to try again, once I've selected my graphics options and clicked 'play' my misery starts once again, I typically get a black or white screen where I can hear the in game sound but the main menu either does not show at all, or begins to display at such a slow rate I'd like to describe it as having a negative framerate. In order to even get to see the main menu again I have to completely resart my machine and start the cycle again.

I've been through the troubleshooting page and tried each of the recommended fixes however none have worked. I really would like to be able to get some insight as to what may be causing the issue as I don't want to have to refund my purchase.

Please find my DxDiag and output log files in the following pastebin: http://pastebin.com/CvnG8HuZ

Thank you very much for reading my post and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there, could you provide us with your output_log.txt as described in the troubleshooting guide? That might help track down the issue.

    Cheers

Thanks for the quick reply Obraxis, the Output_log was further down the page I previously posted however in order to make things simpler I've reuploaded it here: http://pastebin.com/HZzVp1Jj

When I load the game and the loading screen comes up I sometimes can hear game sounds behind the screen. If I wait for a minute or so the game always launches. I find this takes longer after a computer reboot. Are you giving it long enough to load up? There is a message that comes up on the loading screen saying it may seem like it has frozen/crashed but has not done so.

Oddly enough I find my game runs smoother if the computer has been running for a while before I launch, rather than straight after a reboot.

Got a bit of an update now, I have since managed to get in to the game once however it took in excess of 20 minutes in total to actually reach a point where I was swimming around. The game seemed to run okay while I was playing aside from the fact whenever I tried to equip a tool it neither showed in my hand or performed the action it was meant to. I would try to see if re loading my save file fixes this error, however I currently doubt I'll be able to get in to the game to test this without going over the two hour play time limit that prevents me from getting a refund if I'm unable to resolve this framerate/loading issue.

I'm having dramas as well. Everytime I try to start a game, about 15seconds in Windows 7 jumps up and tells me that the program has stopped responding and will be shut down - Can never actually get it to start.
    Any ideas?

Looking at your output log, it looks like you're using a combination of a USB Headset and RealTek Audio drivers. Try disconnecting your USB Headset, then updating your Realtek Audio drivers as they are out of date (12/30/2014). You can follow the Troubleshooting guide for a link to the newer drivers. Bear in mind the USB Audio drivers used for your Headset are built-in to Windows 7 and were last updated 7/12/2013 (can be updated by upgrading to Windows 10).

Hey there @psg - please follow the Troubleshooting guide above fully. If/when the ship loading screen goes grey, do not touch or click anything as this will force Windows to crash the game (when it's actually doing work). After a time, it should load properly.

Cheers, will have a look, but the screen never goes grey, Windows pops up the "non-responding" screen before that.
Basically, I start the game and walk away, don't touch mouse or keyboard....
Running performance counters, it is not CPU or memory bound..
