Well just why not? It may seem worthless or pointless thanks to the stasis rifle in the cyclops but why not?

With all these new creatures, crab squid, sea emperor, sea dragon etc..., we need better gear to fight them, yes the vortex torpedoes are good but why not an actual torpedo? I think it would add more of a "predator" feel to the game. It would also be cool to get the Cyclops to get them as well! The Seamoth's would be weaker and damage less terrain, while the Cyclops' would be more powerful and take out chunks of land.

Thanks guys for an amazing game and keep up the god like work!

    Crafting Recipes:
Explosive Torpedo: 1 titanium, 1 crash powder
Explosive Torpedo (cyclops): I titanium Ingot, 5 crash powder

The developers have stated that they're doing away with lethal weaponry, as they don't want Subnautica to be "just another shooter". Besides, creature respawning renders this feature pointless.

And add an exploding torpedo so we can destroy the rock without using the terraformer.

True true... but think about the other ways it could help, they could be used to also get to different areas in the land.

it even says when fabricating the torpedo upgrade it is for harmless vortex torpedoes. although vortex torpedoes on a cyclops would be AMAZING!

I didn't even think of that! screw my idea, just add vortex cyclops torpedos!

The Cyclops is too slow maneuvering, I think, to employ offensive/defensive torpedoes without a targeting/homing ability. I think the Cyclops is better suited to a perimeter defense system like the Seamoth has, or a large stasis field generator, as was suggested in another thread. [BTW, you can shoot the stasis rifle from inside the Cyclops...If the Reaper is nearby but I need to grab stuff, I park the Cyclops near the stuff, and shoot a full-charge stasis bubble at the ground through the Cyclops hatch. Then hop out and you're safely inside a stasis bubble. Great for picking up all the loot crates near the Aurora.]

Now, surveying/demolition torpedoes are another matter, but remembering that we currently have no angular attitude control of the Cyclops, the torpedoes would again have to be targeted or remotely guided. [Using mining/terraforming tools in a potentially lethal manner is very Dead Space]

And I'm still a little confused about the vortex torpedoes. Do y'all just use them for holding a threatening fauna in place for you to escape? I just keep the perimeter defense system on hand and zap all the bone sharks or stalkers before I need to get out. It's rechargeable and I don't have to carry space-consuming torpedoes.

Instead you end up stuck at the bottom of the ocean after shocking something on 10% charge.
