Loading speed

Okay, I'm really curious now what is going on with the loading speed. I just assumed the game loaded super slow and that was just the way it was.
But my daughter asked me to install Subnautica on her rather low-end Desktop, whereas I use my top of the line Asus Republic of Gamers laptop which is better than most desktops. Loading a new game for me takes over 60 seconds. I hesitated to even install the game on her computer because I figured it wouldn't even run.
Surprisingly, it ran well. In fact, it loaded up a brand new game in 15 seconds!! I was REALLY surprised at that one, because I've always had such a long wait on my high-end machine.
Granted, the game doesn't look as amazing on her computer, but it does load very quick. Can someone tell me what is going on?

After maybe 5 minutes of play, it did crash to desktop... not sure if it will keep doing that, but it's worth noting. I've never had a CTD when running on the laptop.

If it matters enough to you, you might want to invest in a new drive, maybe even an SSD if you have the cash, if you can find one that'll fit. Personally I'm not gonna get an SSD until the space-to-price ratio is much better. When 1TB SSDs go under $200 on average, then I'll consider it.
