its called a underwater river, cause by either differences in salt in the ocean, or trappings of salt water beneath freshwater. a lost river is what they are referred to sometimes (wink wink, nudge nudge.) though to be fair, no mans land resembles currently an offshoot of the A/ILZ
A biome that shuts down electrical devices? Like the bermuda triangle? I like that idea a lot, but what happens, let's say, if you go too far in it and are unable to get away? You lose your sub? Also how do you breathe...?
The fish that lures its prey was mentioned by Jamezorg, it's the angler fish
Definitely my first concern when I read this.
Perhaps, similar to how the vessel warns you about depth, it also gives you a *very* advanced warning before entering the zone? Maybe the effects aren't instantaneous, where upon first entering the field, your vessel begins to slow, and the lights start flickering, giving you time to react and turn around.
What if the vessel warns you with that A.I voice saying 'warning, approaching EMP effect, electronics will be disabled' something like that... could've worded it better but you get the idea... hopefully
it does, doesn't it. anyway, a warning to vessels and the player.
"warrnnnnn... Approaching Elllleeelllee field. avvvv field, haza.... electronics, failing." (it should start being affected by the fields as soon as the alert goes off, so may as well scramble it)
oh hey, if you play experimental mode, I guess we can assume where the exosuit drill will play into effect, those giant mineral outcroppings we cant touch yet
Right now im thinking where the location of this biome is in the map, because i dont really think it should be in proximity to the mushroom or lost river biome or grand reef, what do you think,

I had the idea that, if the arctic biome becomes a thing, that it would be around/under that biome.
This may be out of topic, but what do you think of the names of the creatures in subnautica?
sometimes really obvious or funny. in reality, besides the reaper leviathans and maybe the reefback and crabsnake. All the creatures are named by the player in some regards.
Have to be honest, haven't read the whole chain, so I may have missed this already being mentioned, but...
due to lack of defense in the game on your own, this area would be very difficult to navigate. I love the idea, but all you have to defend yourself is a puny knife. Unless they add a convenient pistol-like gun that can at least ward enemies off, exploring this area, or really most areas in the game, is probably too dangerous if you don't have a sub. Although the odds for anything resembling a gun being added are slim, they did add torpedos, so I really don't see why they couldn't put in a pistol that doesn't even have to do much damage, just ward enemies away.

what do you think if you saw this in subnautica?
its an underwater lake
I think that they might add an under water river looking thing in the lost river... the concept art of the lost river looks like it has one.

They definitely will.
Not to rain on your parade, and I may be wrong, but I believe they meant concept art of their creation.
It happens to the best of us.

A noise in the darkness
A magnesium flare illuminating the horrors that man was not meant to see.
we must go deeper, where light fears the dark.
