Have to be honest, haven't read the whole chain, so I may have missed this already being mentioned, but...
due to lack of defense in the game on your own, this area would be very difficult to navigate. I love the idea, but all you have to defend yourself is a puny knife. Unless they add a convenient pistol-like gun that can at least ward enemies off, exploring this area, or really most areas in the game, is probably too dangerous if you don't have a sub. Although the odds for anything resembling a gun being added are slim, they did add torpedos, so I really don't see why they couldn't put in a pistol that doesn't even have to do much damage, just ward enemies away.
Yeah, guns aren't happening. The devs are not gonna put them in, period.
Since the biome is already so dark, u could use light as a way to defend yourself, something that you have to craft or mix that enchances the brightness of solter bulbs, that could blind them and ward them away, but not do serious damage?
It is!!! To the point where its almost dark in the distance, that is why u need Solter bulbs as a light source to navigate which will increase visibility for a few good meters so you can see far enough not to come face to face with a creature, or fall in a hole, otherwise u will be able to see for quite a few distance away and basically able to avoid all creatures which would in my opinion ruin the surprise factor of it. Unless that's not what you had in mind?

What about the stasis rifle? I use that all the time against agressive lifeforms. Just freeze them, do your stuff, freeze again and swim away smoothly.

electronics don't work here without special plating; so no. it wouldn't work

I mean, I'm thinking that the biome is like the grand reef and Dreef. which in total runs from 100m-600m. except this would be 600m probably past 1.4km. past a certain point it would be pitch black, but until then; it'd be like the ashy violet(except grey here) of the Koosh.

Well you could still use flares correct? I mean, a flare isn't electrical it is basically a burning stick. And I can't remember the exact time it takes for them to burn out but you can throw and pick them up again as a mobile light too, I think.
Because how deep the biome goes, it will get pitch black after a while and without the solter bulbs, you may need to use flares to just have a measure of depth. But another creature would be like a squid like predator with distinct illumination on its tentacles. We need art :P
In a way this biome seems really hard, especially as the resources you need to gather are much farther down, and it would already become very difficult to gather the materials you need minus your tech and such. Maybe a possibility is that the area instead makes technology's power drain faster, and the deeper you go the quicker it is so you have to prepare and such to travel deeper into it with more power cells, batteries and such.
Or maybe another possibility is that there are small tunnels that could allow sea moth use without power drain that could get you deeper without drowning and such?
Well, it's an emp effect, it wouldn't outright kill electronics, but you could have a sea moth/eco suit parked at the edge, and use it as an oxygen Resupply. We are still working, so thanks for the feedback.
Well the idea that got me started on this biome was that difficulty in game wasn't high enough, so in a way, this biome is suppose to challenge players who have quite some XP in this game, but i suppose it IS too hard, what if there were a few of those oxygen producing plants spread out in biome, as in not every 100m is 1 of those plant but meaning south west, north and east of that biome AND centre has like 1 of them plant or something.

so if this biome say was 500m in total size, it would have about 2 plants?
Distance between plants have to be far enough so players can swim to any of them with some time left in their tanks so they're not always in a rush for oxygen and also have enough time to do other stuff and not just refilling oxygen, but just enough so to remind players its not a walk in the park and that they have to be aware that oxygen is not abundant that far down in this biome.
Maybe the biome can have a precursor base that is causing the electrical interference? The only way to make the biome safe (well, maybe not safe, but accessible) for your vehicles is to venture into the precursor base and find a way to shut down the field. Maybe have the base be a somewhat of a labyrinth, and maybe have a precursor-created creature guard it and wander the halls, similar to the upcoming warper, but one of a kind. Kind of like a boss, except you can't kill it or even harm it.
