Seems kind of sad that some vote "no" just to be...trollish at best? I doubt there's bonus cookies for sucking up.
While it seems pretty clear there will be no co-op (I specify that kind of MP since I have zero interest in any more grief-oriented PvP in these types of games), I absolutely wish this game had been made co-op from the beginning, and it ALWAYS boggles my mind that anybody makes survival type games that don't have co-op in from the ground up, and especially boggles my mind with this since these devs aren't exactly rookies. In the few survival type games I've played that didn't have co-op it was always among the most requested features. But it's not like they knew how awesome the game would be when they dreamed it up, I guess.
I generally find that playing these kinds of games co-op is vastly superior to playing them solo, but I have a group of friends to play with - and it's nowhere near as cool to all be playing thru this solo and only share our stories thru voice chat. Still a great game worth playing, just not as awesome (for us) as it could be.
So, my wish is that they get this game wrapped up and ideally move on to a Subnautica 2, bigger, badder, with co-op and randomly generated content (or I'll be interested in whatever they choose to do next since the quality of Subnautica is so impressive). Me and my crew will only ever get so much replay out of static map/content anyways (ie, if the map was randomly generated it would be so much better (and I read they tried it and it didn't work out)).
The reason people voted no for multiplayer Is because they know that the developers won't add it.
They are a major suck up to the devs. I bet If the developers added multiplayer everyone would of voted yes. Most of the people here are like dogs (they can't think for themselves and they can't look after themselves so they need a master)
TLDR: The reason they voted no for multiplayer is because they're the developers bitch.
Ok, so multiplayer makes every game better, in my opinion, and many people in the poll said no. Here is a simple suggestion: if you don't like for Subnautica to be multiplayer, then don't play multiplayer.

Always fun to hear this kind of garbage from a newbie. Like it's impossible some of us have a reason to not want multiplayer.
So to broaden your selfish horizon: I don't want multiplayer because I don't like multiplayer. If a game has multiplayer, odds are I'll stay away from it unless I can find clear evidence there is a solid singleplayer. This is a big reason why, despite being a fan of survival games, I can barely find any to play. I'm a "troll" for being happy to have found a rare survival game I can enjoy?
I used to be a big fan of Don't Starve and still like it, but I can't be bothered to pick it up these days because of Don't Starve Together and how that version has, like, twice the content of Don't Starve while Don't Starve never was finished. I would already be happy if Klei could bring over the Whirly Fan to make summer slightly less of a pain! Mind that I do own DST as a freebie for having bought DS way back, but it doesn't appeal to me at all. There's, in all fairness, a vague promise that all the DST content suitable for singleplayer will eventually be ported to DS, but that's going to take a while if it happens at all. And it does make me feel like a second rate customer; something that I have all the right to fear to happen again would UWE split up the team so one half could work on multiplayer. There's so much that has yet to be added to SN and so much I hope to be added - I'm not voting for that to be watered down.
Seriously, what's with half the pro-voters being people who only today or yesterday have made an account and/or not engaged with the community beyond this thread?
TLDR: The reason they voted no for multiplayer is because there the developers bitch.
You couldn't be more wrong.
I hate so much about this game, I hate some of the developer's decisions. (The precursors, the big stupid gun, the yellow blood, Xbone port, etc.) Awful decisions that I personally feel have pretty much spoiled what could have been a fantastic game. When I decided to support Subnautica in Early Access, it was a very different game than it is today. Then along came the PRAWN, along came the Precursors, and I died a little inside.
It's gone from being a unique, beautiful experience to a less unique, unoriginal cliche.
I voted no to multiplayer because I would never play multiplayer. It doesn't appeal to me because I only really enjoy strategy games in multiplayer. Survival games are not my favourite genre and multiplayer even less so. If I play Subnautica I want to do my own thing, at my own pace. I put on some music or an audiobook in the background and take my time, on my own, with some well needed peace and quiet in a beautifully crafted environment.
But, like so many of us have already stated, this has all been said over, and over, and over again.
You are talking nonsense because you can't possibly comprehend that people could have a different opinion than your own.

This is inane. If the devs developed multiplayer, they would have to redirect resources, manpower and time towards developing it. This would mean the single player game suffered due to lack of attention.
It's not as simple as saying "just don't play multiplayer" because if multiplayer became a thing, single player would inevitably suffer. Directly and indirectly.
They already ported it to Xbone and VR, and the main PC branch is suffering because it's not getting the full attention of the devs.
Seems kind of sad that some vote "no" just to be...trollish at best? I doubt there's bonus cookies for sucking up.
So it would be better if I sucked up to you instead by voting 'yes' against my personal preference? Is that what you're trying to say? Polls call for votes based on personal opinions. They ask individual forum members for their own thoughts and views on certain topics. People who voted 'no' gave you just that, and you have no right to judge them or belittle them just because you disagree.
Personally, I dislike multiplayer in any and all games, and you can not deny me the right to that. I like playing solo, I like being the only person responsible for my gameplay experience. That said, I absolutely don't mind a game having both a solo and multi mode, but in the case of SN - which is not made by a huge, filthy rich and overstaffed studio - adding multiplayer, or even just co-op, would inevitably mean cutting some of the single player content to compensate. As a person who only enjoys single player games, I can not with clear conscience vote against my best interest and support multiplayer, so I voted 'no'. But sure, call me a troll and a suck up for that, you only make yourself look bad with such attitude.

Whose second account are you, I wonder? You joined today, as of right now you have made exactly one post, and one that is incredibly offensive for everyone who dared to disagree with the OP... Shameful tactics, whoever you are.
Getting back on topic. If multiplayer was added what would you like it to be like.
Given the situation the game revolves around I'd want it limited to four players at most. If subnautica had a multiplayer I tend to think it would be more of the old school split screen style of multiplayer, though there should definitely be the option for internet multiplayer. The world is really not large enough to handle many more than that... I think two is more reasonable given the plot situation but that may not really be favorable by the folks asking for it.
Personally, I really could care less about multiplayer at this point. The game gains from being solitary in a regard, but I am primarily a solo gamer anyway so I recognize that my perspective is skewed in that direction. All the same, I would prefer the devs focus on their next project instead of adding in multiplayer. That said, if it were put in I probably would at least try the multiplayer with friends.
Jeez, some of you guys really need to calm down a notch.. there's so much hostility on a simple game forum and its not needed at all..
What the guy is asking (yes EnglishInfidel, i know you understand) is that if there ever actually was multiplayer, like, if it was going to be implemented into SN right now, but needed confirmation from the fans on whether they want it added, what would you say?
IMO I'd really like multiplayer if we ever got the chance, but unfortunately there's very little chance now...
Why dose the community act like this?
Its quite simple why.
short answer: Theres been like 12 polls like his just in the past year, why the need to make another one ....
Long answer: Those that gets irritated profoundly are the ones that are around for a long while and knows that this horse has been dead for a millenia now. Its been tortured, killed, resurected, re-tortured, re-killed and what remains of it is now exposed in the -- Halls Of Those Subjects thats been Discussed in such great lengths that we would fill 100 aurora's full cargo bays --
thats why
And for those that are new a simple search of the word Multiplayer will net you all the infos you need on the subject and much much more .....
I mean, someone new, that has no idea about the matter and bring this up innocently i can live with. But someone that knows exactly what he's doing when bringing this subject up that has already been brought up God only knows how many times before, im sorry but i had to say something. It came out blunt but i'll live with it.
Also, @phantomfinch , hope you dont mind if i borrow your comment cuz that made me smile if you do mind just tell me ill bring it down
As mentioned by several people in this thread, this subject has been covered several times and the answer is definitive. Yes, I understand you are not asking for it t o be added, though that is irrelevant. This thread will serve no other purpose than to annoy people and become a troll fest.
