Hydro-kinetic generators use currents to generate power. This could be a cool late-game power source. It would be affected by the biome that it is built in (areas like the Dunes would do best). As it is a no-cost power generator like the solar panel, it couldn't be super powerful. This could be used for areas like the Lost River where solar and thermal power aren't an option. The PDA says that it has blueprints selected for the enviroment your on, so why not a hydro-kinetic

Now, all we need is the ability to build huge dams. Only 30-50 km or so seems to do it, or across a tidal estuary, of which there are zero to use.

Sure, it might not be entirely justifiable in terms of realism, but I think we've passed that station with the thermal plant and nuclear reactor.

But what about hydroKINETIC?
The motion of the waves powers a turbine that generates electricity. And we KNOW that the planet has waves. A miniature turbine that floats on the surface and can beam power down.
That's what I was trying to say....sorry guys
Else players would naturally just put it where thermal generator currently are: the only source of current we know.
Also high and low tide would be nice. Just not in the size the moon would actually cause.
