Will you change being able to build things without scanning them?

Thermal reactors are the easiest power source to take advantage of, but the equalizer for this, is that it's the most dangerous thing to hunt for in the game. You have to go to the sand dunes which house what? 3-4 Reaper Leviathans? That was until I found that you could just wait a while and the blueprint would just show up in my blueprints. I could place it down and it would show me the requirements and I'd build it.
I can't believe I'm basically asking for my future start-finish Hardcore let's play to be - to put it quite bluntly - HELL ON PLANET 4G465 WHATEVER THE NUMBER! But are you going to remove this feature? Because I'd probably die in the dunes if you did.

I think you are mistaken when you say you think the blueprint just "showed up" in your blueprints. If it did, then that was likely a bug due to an update or something. Unless they dramatically changed something recently.

I've never once encountered a Reaper Leviathan while retrieving the Thermal Plant blueprint in the Dunes.

Solar Power is the easiest power source for bases in the Shallows. You start the game with Solar and--again, with a base in the Shallows, you can get all the power you'd ever need from Solar. Or, other folks have told me you can use power transmitter to send the power from the surface down to a base much deeper.

I didn't even know it was in the Dunes. I get mine from the Grand Reef. How hard it is to obtain then depends on that game's warper spawn behavior. Is it possible you could've unknowingly scanned the fragments among all the other ones you can get at the (first) GF wreck?

No, in the time it takes me to build a seamoth, explore the QEP and the floating island and head to the Grand Reef, the blueprint is there, it just doesn't tell me the ingredients. If you guys aren't experiencing this then it must be a bug.

It is a bug. Sometimes i begin a new game and i have the Multipurpose room blueprint greyed out in my Blueprint page. If i pull up my Habitat builder window, altho the blueprint is still greyed out, i can still place it down in the world and build it. Same goes with anything that can be built with the habitat builder, if its greyed out it can still be built if you have the proper materials in your inventory.

Im fairly sure its not meant to be that way. Its possible that those greyed out blueprints are simply there and/or appearing as time passes to remind us that the tech exist, even tho our character doesnt know how to build that yet. They'll surely go into fixing this in the future updates.

Can confirm. I had that glitch too. I just made it a point to not use it when I figured it out because I was pretty confident it was in fact a bug (happened with the modification station for me).

Ok cool. This should make my start to finish Hardcore let's play on my channel a bit more interesting.

There's a bug that allows you to build things even if you didn't fully unlocked it but doesn't apply for everything but I'm sure it's going to be fixed shortly maybe next update?

I can't believe I'm saying this but I hope so.

2 people have "Disagreed" with my comment at the top of the thread. That's HILARIOUS. Who actually put the time and effort in to rate that comment?
