I'm like a engineer/reporter. I love to build and weld things. I love the welder and lmg (no GL). As for the reporter, i'm like the good kind: Reporting where is being attacked, how many marines/aliens are somewhere, which rt is free/capped, etc.
This post reminds of a strategy i read. It included the scout, engineer and a 'flex" (kinda a PG hopper). It was a great strategy.
The birdbrain: whines for a JP every time he spawns. Never leaves marine base. Just flys around bouncing off the ceiling until a fade or lerk shoots him out of the sky . . .
I'm a rabid engineer/thinker.. And I find it great fun to weld ever single vent I see, and follow around the HA guys welding them... When they're not even in combat. I'm standing there, right behind them. Welding. I love my job. Also somewhat of an avenger (see below)

i dun think so. i can play a grunt fairly well and i tend to contribute a lot to the game flow
Grunts are fine.. and those hardcore defenders that keeps jumping between pg and defend each hive is a key player as well..
A noob Rambo is obviously just a hinder to the team.. A good rambo can be useful or not useful depends on actually how many players you have on the team.. Usually a good rambo that tries to secure critical areas early on will usually create the game winner..In a massive games (6vs6 or higher), having 1 good rambo actually works pretty well. .But in a 5vs5, having 1 Rambo means the marines are going to lose (because that leaves only 3 active marines that stay together and follows orders)
As for comm type.. a good comm is the ones that states his strategy explicitly and early so the marines understand what to expect and their priority. (for example, if I say I want jp/hmg rush.. I expect them to know that I don't want hive but I want every res node I built proper defended)
I like going Ninja. Sitting and waiting for the aliens and gorges around corners and in dark places. Fighting fire with fire on their turf that is. Also im a Fade-Nemesis:
the Nemesis Once he see a fade/lerk/onos he just got to have it down. He hunts it through half the map if neccesary with just a LMG (50/100 ammo) and a Pistol (10/10 ammo). sometime he get them sometimes he dont.
Ninja sounds a lot like a camper. Either way I do that sometimes. I'll stock up on ammo and find a nice long hallway near a hive. I can rack up the kills as long as they don't attack in a pack of three or more. I've killed a dozen skulks in a sitting many times doing that.

Nah man, by Ninja, I'm the guy who runs straight to Powersilo, nips through vents & other places the 'Rines aren't meant to go, and finds himself sat right by the 'other' entrance to the main hive (Most aliens will use the quicker one to Marine spawn at the start of the game, 90% of the time, except for the newbs, who you shoot & don't report you being there) then gets a phase down & p*sses the whole Kharaa team off.
His name is NSPlayer. Always tries to join marine team even if they're a hundred others chilling at "Join Marines". Once in game, sees a gorge and tries to pet it. Thinks that they are cute teddy bears and attemps to protect it from the skulks, only to be run over by five of them. Can barely get out of base, if he does it is pure luck. Asks: "s1 tell me how 2 buy a gun plz". Stares at offense chambers in confusion and gets killed 5 seconds 10 seconds later. Receives a jp/hmg, doesn't know where the hive is, uses all the jp's energy and falls do his death.
offtopic: you cant pick up a dead person's shotgun nymore? are u serious?
i would further like to add that if a ninja is the type who finds res solo and secures a hive solo.. im that type.... before in 1.03 and still in 1.04... my personal record is securing both hives in less than 5 minutes hahahah

Sneaking in NS is soooo much fun... it's like Thief only with real people. You can't really do it in other games like TF because the maps are too bright, but it's sooo much fun... I once hid as a gorge in a corner in comp core while the marines built a phase gate under my nose (the key here is standing still and not moving your nose around). Once the pg was up and all the marines popped out for a second - just a second - I put an OC on the phase gate (this was pre-1.04) and retook the hive. I also once hid as a marine in comp core, in the same corner, for about ten minutes after the game "ended" (CC and IPs destroyed), while skulk after skulk just ran past me... Also, with motion tracking and two hives sneaking actually becomes a very useful tactic - you use motion tracking to avoid the fades and sneak into a hive. Since fades don't die that often, you won't get many people spawning in the hive and will be able to see anyone else coming via MT, so if you get the comm to put down a phase in some not-so-obvious spot (easier in some hives than others) and build it while no one is around, you can rush a hive and make a comeback. I know this is a bit off topic, but it's 4 AM here - just feel fortunate that I managed to type out something half-coherent. Anyway, g'nighsat satasdnf nasdfn alfdsavcv ahat./....................................................
A gifted marine. He can shoot straight, maybe not with aimbot like skill, but he's good. He gaves useful suggestions to teammates or the commander, but neither does he spam voice without good cause.
Fades hold no fear for him. He will gladly charge them down to exchange 5 deaths for just one fade kill.
He has no weaknesses in his skill. He can defend in base for the entire game without a grumble, run around welding structures and hopping through phase gates but is equally happy JPing hives or mixing it up in HA gear. He can use each weapon equally well.

I always seem to grab a few clips, smoke my way through some vents that I (notably) never find when I'm alien and find myself, WuTang style, hidden by the hive, asking the comm not to drop any structures as it would alert the Skulks to my Shaolin presence.
