I got some serious 3d problems...
It all begun..wait! I don't even know when it begun.
Anyway, I got some serious problems running any 3d-related program on my computer. Everytime i try to run half-life it says my videocard doesn't support opengl. (which it does normally) This results in the frustration of not being able to play the MOHAA demo or MAP FOR NS! I tried a bunch of drivers, I RE-INSTALLED WINDOWS 98 (those installation pics are really scary&#33, I tried glsetup, I reinstalled directX, GOD I even started F***ing around in BIOS (which i know nothing about) the other day (it's seemes to be turned off somehow though, if that is possible)

God this must look pathetic

opengl.org and mohaa creators ignore me. If u think u know how to help me, please do so.

So, you had this card. It's worked fine for a few years, then it just quit on you for OpenGL? And you've already grabbed the latest nVidia drivers (since STB is dead and gone). Ouchies... that really makes no sense. Is it PCI or AGP? I'm grasping here.

What resolution and color depth do you have set, in game?

bios says agp in bios by default, i believe. maybe thats the problem...
i can't really say what resolution MOHAA is set to... something very low. But it doesn't seem to matter anyways since HL is set to 1024xblah and started resusing to start and still refusing to stop refusing start at the same time.

    Ehhh, come again?

It could just be that your card is failing. Do you have a spare to try, or a friend's to borrow to make 100% sure it's not a software issue?

Sorry, it was late over here when i posted that

Since i'm using the swedish version of win98 it gets hard to explain this... hmmm... U know what this is but most likely have a different name for it:
There is a list called "system" or "system properties" or something, follow me? U rightclick the icon on the desktop named "den har datorn" which means "this computer" and choose properties. This list displays all hardware installed. If there is something wrong, a small yellow X appears next to the unit that has a problem (like bad drivers or such). My problem is; there is no X, so everything SHOULD work... ######!

Oh. That little icon in the Hardware sheet of Windows 98 is called a 'bang'. Don't think for a second that Windows 98 can actually tell you if hardware is failing, other than if it is 100% dead. It isn't capable of natively using 3D, so it really doesn't care how yours is working.

I would recommend finding another card temporarily (from a friend perhaps), and throwing it in real fast. If that card works, you have verififed that there's nothing wrong with your OS, software, or PC, and have isolated that really is your video card. Since you can't contact the vendor anymore (they be dead), you can decide what to do, be it getting a new card or...getting a new card. If the other card also doesn't work, the problem lies within software or your PC's board itself.

Either way, let us know what happens.

I think it's software related. Firstoff scan for viruses, don't think that's the cause but it doesn't hurt, second scan for errors with scandisk, then just re-instal the latest drivers, the nvidia reference drivers. I used to have a matrox g200 and everytime i played carmageddon 2 and then played hl it also said that my card doesn't support opengl, then i just had to reboot, dunno what causes it, but the card worked perfectly, since i gave it to my sister and she doesn't have any problems with either. I have a viper v550, that's a riva tnt also with 16mb and i just downlaoded the latest drivers fro mthe nvidia site and i don't have any problems with it, just that my fps in cs is really low, unlike in UT.

Heh heh, that's pretty funny. Oh well, that's one step closer to mapping than I will ever take.
