Are Hitboxes Being Fixed In 1.1?

Aliens disadvantaged
The most annoying part of playing aliens at the moment is that practicly 1 in 4 of your attacks wont land becuase of dodgy marine hit boxes. Sometimes you dance around a marine biting him about 5 times and they take no damage, it really is very annoying. Then theres the vent problems aswell.
Its just not worth the effort sometimes, you know you easily killed that marine that just destroyed you but theres nothing you can do about it.

In answer to your question: Definitely. Definitely not. Maybe. We have no comment. Mrs. Flayra isn't feeling up to taking your questions right now, fanparrazi...
Thanks
I may have killed them by biting their head, I can't remember, but never the legs.
as to lerks, imagine a flying skulk, and that's basically the lerk's size. What I do is I pull out my pistol and wait that he leaves (normally he does after some time) next time he comes back, empty your 200 damage and he should be dead before he says humph pistolz!
Aliens are wininng at the moment becuase A. They require less teamwork to be effective (Huge bonus in pubs) B. The current alien flavour of the month build order* is greater than most current marine strategies.
*which is build 3 DC first giving aliens lvl 3 cara 3 minutes into the game making it difficult for marines to expand anywhere, skulks are more than often able to keep marines in thier own base well up until the 2nd hive is active. Getting carapace this early also makes succesfull base ganking at any point in the game alot more common. The current trend for commanders is to have no base defence except for mines or even worse just one man, this is often leading to rushing by aliens ending the game.
The problems with hitboxs are still terrible imo, I cannot play a single game without getting annoyed multiple times from dying to marines that I know for a fact I killed.
Have to agree, that's exactly what's annoying me most lately.
Skulk: An alien, capable of killing an unupgraded marine in 2 bites...assuming they aren't in a vent, or crouching, on on a ladder...
I've had times where I've potentially caused enough damage to take out a HA, yet the marine took zero damage.
My main fear is balance ,should this get fixed. I certainly believe that if every bite that a skulk makes that should hit, actually DOES...marines would have a very difficult time indeed.
Actually the Onos hitbox has a problem, but that is being fixed in 1.1 ...so im just guessing that all the rest will be fixed too...cant remember who said it, but it was said.
yes, you are quite correct.
There is also a issue with the skulk attacking. You can apparently kill a marine with bite while standing next to him...
Something to do with the hitbox being slightly wider than the skulk model.
so if we're talking about hitbox problems, then I guess there's another to add.
Oh I just scanned down and someone beat me to it.
Also Lerk hitbox drops lower when it flies, so shoot it in the knackers when flying, and above the back when it's on the ground.
Always aim above the a r s e. (It's a good motto for life I suppose)
Is that so much to ask?
BLAM BLAM BLAM!
best method is to leap down BEHIND them, and bite their Butt.
ahem........"SPRAY N PAY"
Given the aliens spend almost all game fighting as skulks, the marines should be killable from ANY angle.

but seriously

But it's hard to take advantage of their abilities when the marines don't get damaged unless hit in a certain spot. Vents, ladders, all the places where it would make sense for an alien to ambush a marine, are not working because of the hitbox

This is the point, and all part of the larger problem with NS whereby the thematically suggested roles of the classes are either reversed or otherwise severely askew.
Who rules vents?
Marines.
Ridley Scott would turn in his grave.
Wait...he isn't dead...in his director's chair.
In CS i conducted some tests and found that
1) If you shoot people's temple from the side, they take no damage. Everyone has a hole in their head.
2) Everyone's left forearm does not take damage.
In NS i've found that the attack box for skulks (if the attack box intersects a hitbox, damage is dealt) is nowhere near where you would think it would be (IE right infront of your view). It appears to be above you, and stretch to the sides. In addition, many hitboxes change dramatically when you enter different modes of motion (IE fly, wallwalk, crouch) and NOT where you would think they would move.
However, i'm still hopeful that most of these can get worked out in 1.1.
Well, the aim is to wait in a long corridor, then when they run below you, leap down and chomp his ****!
