<div class="IPBDescription">Comments welcome</div> There's a new feature up at <a href='http://www.readyroom.org' target='_blank'>Readyroom.org</a> called <b>'The Budget Traitor'</b>. It gives reviews and information for NS fans impatiently tapping their fingers waiting for 1.1 to release. It is only for free, downloadable games as well, so people on a budget need not fret. Check it out and let me know if it was worth the effort, or if you'd like your tax-dollars spent elsewhere...

Nice job on looking for cheap but good games, I recommend trying to find more shareware sometime (cough cough www.spidweb.com cough cough), not just demos and ONE shareware title.
Lotsa good freeware out there, too.
And yes, Samurai pwns. Comprox and I split 2 games last night, and I think tonight I shall have my revenge!
Fired.
Takes me 24 hours to load the page. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
Got to go and check it out...
You would've recieved my insult sooner if you'd only open Trillian from time to time...
but how are you getting my taxes?
jeez, if i knew some hippy was gonna squander it all i would move to BC and do it myself!

Anyways some of those added to the site would be great.
*ducks*
But actually, the best free games are web based
<a href='http://pelit.dnainternet.net/pelihalli/trials/' target='_blank'>Xtreme Motocross (swedish?)</a>
*plus these guys make other good games, a ski jump game, a rollercoaster game, and i just recently found an indycar game*
<a href='http://us.rd.yahoo.com/games/front/gr/?http://games.yahoo.com/gr' target='_blank'>Yahoo Graffiti</a>
*this is just plain fun (probably need a yahoo account to play)*
<a href='http://www.popcap.com/multiplayer.php?theGame=psychobabble' target='_blank'>Psychobabble from PopCap Games</a>
*in honor of the recently deceased babblers*
<a href='http://www.media-division.com/flashgames/flashchess/chess.htm' target='_blank'>Flash Chess</a>
*Flash based chess game against computer. Computer is good enough to keep it interesting for me, but not so good that I can't win*
Edit: I forgot to mention. You CAN'T resume your download

Finnish!
Edit: Oh, and <a href='http://www.abuse2.com/sshots.php3' target='_blank'>Abuse</a> is pretty damned ace too. Kind of like a 2d side-scrolling Doom (think Duke Nukem: Manhatten Project, but good), and its first 4 levels are available for free.
Take a look at this site (but you need a lot of time to go through all the games):
<a href='http://aw.localhost.ee/aw/user-page/' target='_blank'>Site with old games</a>
Some of my personal favorites of old/free games:
1. Civilisation
2. History-Line 1914-1918 (MonsE, I think you would like it as it is a strategy game about WWI with tons of great background information!)
3. Tie Fighter
4. Transport Tycoon
5. Bubble Bobble (the good old days <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->)
6. The incredible Machines
7. The settlers
8. Mad TV
9. Cannon Fodder
10. Dune2
11. Warcraft 1 (or 2)
12. King's quests
13. Heroes of Might and Magic I (or II)
etc.
Small Jump'n runs are also nice, such as Duke Nukem, Commander Keen, Crystal Caves...
unfortunately, I never had Master of Magic and Starcontrol 2, I would have loved to play them <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->
Oh well, I am getting a bit nostalgic here, hehe
Edit: If you need any URLs where you can legally download them, it would be a pleasure for me to provide them to you, just ask! <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> I am currently copying all my old games to CD and I needed to download those which didn't work properly, hence I know those sites very well...
9. Cannon Fodder <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd-->
History Line is excellent. Made by Blue Byte, and using the same engine as Battle Isle I and II.
However, I've never seen Cannon Fodder anywhere legal, only CF2.
If it is, in any way, warez then I must apologize! I do not know exactly the legal terms of the company. But I am pretty much sure it is legal! Anyway, I have my own CF working on my hard drive <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
They also have some a bit newer games that "flopped" like seven kingdoms 2, which actually is a great. Strange that it didn't do better... <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->
No OpenGL support, but the Win95 version might actually work on WinXp. I am not sure (as I have only ME which SUXX!!) whether the problems will be only due to memory (which may be solved) or whether there are major incompability problems... Have you tried it?
oh wow, scorched3d is working now? Last time I checked (sometime last year) all the guy had done was make a rendering engine, no actual game yet.
www.xcomufo.com <- Best. Strategy. Game. EVAR!
www.scorch2000.com <- Play your mates online. SWEET.
www.bigideafun.com <- Works if you're in a firewalled, nazi patrolled hell of network admins. Go. Play now.
www.mofunzone.com <- What? You can play a GB Color from behind that same firewall? *YOINK* As good as loaded.
Review away Monse. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
