The box art looks great, I don't really have anything useful to say about that. Here's the text from the back of the box:
Natural Selection is a modification based on the famous Half-Life Engine that combines the atmosphere of Sci-Fi-Movies with the action of first-person-shooters and the tactics of strategy-games.
An unknown race from outer space threatens the outposts of mankind. The only hope for the infested space-ships and stations are the marines of the TSA.
Commmand a squad and support your team with defence-structures like turrets and siege-cannons or team up wiht your pals on the ground and fight the aliens face-to-face as one of the brave marines.
But remember: the key to survival is teamwork and base-building so look out for resource-nodes and stay with your team.
Sneak through the abandoned relics of human exploration and attack the enemy from the dark. As an Alien, you take advantage of your superior physical ablities like wallclimbing, cloaking, flying, hive-sight and much more.
As your main target is to take over the ship of station you must protect your hive from every treat.
I've tried not to correct anything so I can highlight a few mistakes I've noticed.
1st & 2nd para: Not much to say really
3rd para: Minor mistake spelling 'with' as 'wiht', there appears to be too large a space between 'the' and 'brave' (thus the double space). Looking at it again I don't like the number of 'and's; the first part could be rewritten: Commmand a squad, supporting your team (etc.)
4th & 5th para: Could you make the marine/alien divide a bit more obvious (how does the customer know that your talking about the other team?)?
6th para: Minor of/or mistake, and another minor mistake spelling threat.

Why stop at the back of the manual? do every page, think of the text to go where, set out layouts, watermarks, stuff like that. include credits, contents page, images, examples, tutorials. And why stop even there? how about desiging those little customer survey questionnaires they slip in, as well as some adverts and of course the back of the cd case inlet.
Either that or i'm just being overly sarcastic... which do you think it is?

My only complaint with the white and black one is that -while it looks incredible- it doesn't look like NS to me. I'm not accustomed to seeing NS presented in a white on black fashion, especially with the firey design thing. It's rockin, but not NS in my eyes.
I, for one, would love to just see a black box with the Natural Selection logo "raised" on front. No flashy pictures or anything. Merkaba had the same thoughts. I would want to see the text logo as the main feature of the box. A dark grey (or possibly even infested) lambda sign shadowed into the background. Really subtle though. It's just how I've always imagined the box... The black and white is really wonderful, but it's not what I -or anyone else who's been following the mod- associates with the game. Orange on black seems to be the current theme. It's just what we're all used to. It would be kinda strange for me to see NS in a box styled like that. I don't see flame designs anywhere around here, etc... Just doesn't fit in. Not that the box isn't nice, because it's honestly quite professional looking.
I mean, I wouldn't freak out if it got put in a box like that... because it looks damn cool. I'd just prefer a simple black box with the logo on it though. Dark grey ingravings of the lambda logo and perhaps something else.

Really great work here. I agree with Ken on the overall white/black theme though. I'd like to see things sitting in shadow, and maybe some spotlights as well (never gets old).

Also does anyone know where I can get a "clear" and "focused" pic of the Marine crest? I think thats what you call it. You know the logo on the Marines' glove.
YediJoshi: I took the NATURAL SELECTION logo from the .psd-file Flayra posted some time ago <a href="http://www.natural-selection.org/cgi-bin/ikonboard/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=7;t=1895;hl=ns+logo" target="_blank">here</a> . You may miss the font MINION, it's a pay-font. I used DAUPHIN, I don't know where i took it but it's free and looks very similiar...

Nice! I think the turrets are a bit tall/Tiny is a bit small Maybe you could make the whole thing more "uniform". In my opinion it's too colorful. It's too hard to focus on the title... I realy like the Commander-Screen at the bottom, perhaps you can use that color-scheme for the whole box

Wow, that looks REALLY good. I really love how you set the HL logo in the "eye" of the hive like that, it fits very nicely. I'll look through the text and PM you any errors that I find.
If you want to put that on the market I beleive you'll need a better descripiton. On the front cover you should rearrange the aliens to look <b>evolutionary</b> you should split the back cover <b>in two</b> parts one describing <b>marines</b>, the other describing <b>aliens</b>.

I think the turrets are a bit tall/Tiny is a bit small
Maybe you could make the whole thing more "uniform". In my opinion it's too colorful. It's too hard to focus on the title...
