I Miss Anything In The Last 3 Or 4 Months?

I've been away...
I've been really busy with other crap... So I'm curious, anything major going on in the last 3 or 4 months? I ask because I'm still not going to be able to play for likely a few days. I've read about the changes that will arrive in 1.1, but has gameplay on servers changed much in 1.04?

Thanks for any info guys. Hope to see some of you around.

Well there's probably been newer and cheaper strategies developed for the marines since. Most people complain about 1.04 now but I think it's still good.

Movement first has become common on some of the top servers.

A couple commanders have perfected the HA rush too.

Basicly lame tactics have evolved. The famous 2-hive-lockdown and the a little bit less lame Jp/hmg rush. Any comm who tries anything else either gets flamed or ejected.

Come on guys lets tell him the truth now... no point in hiding it any longer.

Someone discovered a great way to use Sensory and now we all use it as the first chamber. Due to this all the games are won by aliens and the marines sides never ever get any wins.

This tactic, i'm sure all agree, is amazing.... :-)

This involves putting a sensory on a gorge's back and making him run into the marine base. This makes all marines laugh without stopping and therefore stopping them from using their weapons. The skulks come in and mop up. It's very effective

Tactics - a bunch of new stuff had developed:
    Instant JP rush
    Zookeeping
2-Hive Stasis (Rines let aliens get 2 hives and tech to HA/JP/everything else, and then have quite an interesting battle; only seen it regularly one one or two servers, it essentially pits HA/JP vs All Alien forms w/o onos.)

I'm so sorry that tactic is very hard to learn since if it's ever used against your side you just don't realise what happened.

It's very common and leads to the question at the end of the game being "How did we just lose that?" and the replies being "you were 5 marines down so the game closed on you".... that's not the true reason... the real reason is that they used that new super tactic

You guys are forgetting to mention the upgraded offense chambers that chase marines down when one comes near.

Yeah but that's kinda counter-balanced with the marine mines flying after skulks also...

ignore all the whiners. On bad pubs the aliens win all the time, or the marines win all the time. On good pubs the marines win when they're excellently organized, or the aliens destroy them with superior teamwork.

As for 1.1, a bunch of balance posts have been posted in the beta discussions, as well as here in General Discussion, a few were worth reading. What else happened? You missed a few flamewars, a few new maps are almost ready for beta testing (mm, fresh blood), and that's about it.

WHY 2-hive lockdown is a lame tactic?? can u explain me that? If im not erroneus the objective of this game is to WIN, and you can´t win if your enemy can get stronger with every hive that it takes...

I've always considered the 2-hive lockdown a NORMAL tactic, and i keep considering it...i don't know why and when it has become a lame one..(and WORSE THAN JP HMG??? simply NO COMMENTS to this...¬¬U). Man, i'll always have a better opinion of the comm/marine team who walked thought all the map doing res towers and taking the two hives with turrets, PG, etc...instead of a fuc**** marine team who only does 1 or 2 res towers and stays in base waiting for JP HMG, in order to destroy your second hive (when it was gestating) and your first hive...

And for the aliens, if u have a 2-hive lockdown simply learn to do a syncronized and CONTINIOUS attack to a single hive. There's no lockdown that can resist a good and attack. Syncronization is the key xP

The reason people say its lame is because the marines sit there and take there time to cap every res on the map with tf and 50 turrets build 50 turrets at revery hive + 2000 mines, get every upgradde including jp and HA, then after say 2 hours of just dieing as a skulk your only hive gets rushed by 8 HA/HMG/WELDER/NADER marines with full upgrades. This is a good tactic but its as boring as shiet for the aliens and usually the marines asking the commander for weapons when he replys (just wait till i get 600 res to outfit everyone). The only person who usually finds it amusing is the commander. Theres a difference between fun and winning, if you play to wina nd not have fun you might as well cheat its the same thing.

I don't think these tactics are new, so you didn't miss much. Except for 3-4 months of playing NS.

That's the aliens problem, not marines xP.....learn how to play and/or do a good teamwork. Or the marine's team has the fault of the n00by acts of an alien team?
