Yeah, the fact that electrified TFs are pretty much unkillable by anything but a projectile weapon, coupled with the fact that none of the forms availible from the get-go have such an attack, tells me that a properly set-up turret farm may indeed be unbeatable. <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo--> You'd have to sacrifice a bunch of aliens just to take down the tfactory at all.
On the other hand, if it's already been tested by the debug crew, and Onos + Carapace truly can eat a TF in a couple of passes, whether it's electric or not, then I suppose it's okay.
But will this just lead to more pushing for Def first? Or will players realize that an assult team of 2 or 3 Onos are just as good, if not better than a single onos with full carapace, because the turrets have to divide their fire among them?
Would a sensory chamber outside the room with the turret farm cloak any nearby aliens, allowing them to enter the room totally invisible? If so, would the turrets track and fire upon the invisible aliens? What if the marines have motion tracking?
This is all terribly interesting! I can't wait to find out the answers to these and other intriguing questions. I can only hope it will be as balanced as they like to say it is.
Well, we will all find out on the 31st, no reason to try and get all the info before hand. The news post said that they will give us tantalizing tidbits to tide us over during the wait! *drools*

What exactly is lacking?
Sensory still isn't consider viable first, but movement increases the rate of fire for OC's. So sticking OC's in high-traffic area backed my MC's owns hard.

Wrong. Offensive chambers are only 5 res a piece.
Oh btw the aliens are winning the majority of the games in the newest 1.1/2.0 build.
And, in the next build coming out later today, skulks are beefed up to 90hp/25armor at the very beginning, without any upgrades. Gorges gained 25 more armor, so they start with 75 armor now, and the rate of fire for OCs have increased. Finally it's way easier for a skulk to kill a marinw now due to the fact marines don't get knocked back from skulk bites anymore. These changes will take a while for marines to get used to.
Boondock Saints is a good film, I love modern films with a cerebral side to them. My favourite has to be Ghost Dog.
Anyway, I think a carapace onos with 2 gorges as backup will pwn turrets big time. The onos draws all the fire, and the gorges heal about 60h a second (I think there's about 1.5-2 heal sprays per second each).

OCs, spit and spikes are all ranged weapons available from the very beginning of the game.
<Typical 1.1 scenario>
2 gorges and a skulk come across an electric RT, gorges drop a couple of 5res OCs next to the RT for protection, and to damage the RT. Skulk chomps RT while gorges heal spray the skulk to negate the electric damage. Gorges replace marine RT with their own which is now defended by 2 OCs.
</Typical 1.1 scenario>
This scenario can occur several times per match on the test server, it's seen as pretty standard play.
Onos eats turrets for breakfast, and you probably won't be taking carapace with it, you'll be taking regeneration.
