<div class="IPBDescription">rendered image :D it turned out nice</div> ok well I like how people make rendered images by putting the models in a certain position etc on a nice background. so I thought id give it a good try. I dont see many about gorges, so I made one. afterall. the gorge is the best part <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

sorry but to make it look more real i used the default gorge as it gives the most feel for this pic

    As beast said, too dark.

I can make out 2 OCs, a RT, the gorge and the right wall.

Be nice if I could see more ^_^

    Good work,

You've got me interested in rendering something now but where do I start? I take it you get a pic of a model from HLMV but what program do you use to render and how?

Are there links to help somewhere?

    Thx

The way i rendered was I used adobe and milkshape. I used screenshots from the game which i took ingame and To get the models in the right position i used milkshape. took a screenshot of the position then transferred the screenshot into adobe, made the background transparent then cloned the pic into the actual layout, added shading and shadows and blurred it to give a bit more of a real feel.

its rather simple, mind you this was my first time rendering and its pretty easy <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

I thought the first dark image was the one with the most atmosphere.

    Good stuff,

the 2nd brighter one is indeed better

Make some more, maybe an ambush, a combat situation, a skulk snoozing off on a ledge in marine start, something fun <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

Looks very good and not so "fake-ish" like the other pics using this technique

    job a good un, make more <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Cheers

it's cool but its not exactly a "render". a render would be importing the map and models into a program like 3D Studio Max and doing it all there. Good job either way
  • kyliegirlkyliegirl Gorge Master Australia Join Date: 2002-12-11 Member: 10586Members, Reinforced - Shadow
it was practically a render. because it was made the same way the 3dstudio max, only the models stay in a more better form. anything which is you putting the models in a certain pose and editing the background etc is a render.

damn your good at this drawing/rendering/whatever...

but the gorge one i think needs to have bars up top above the gorge with light shining through onto the gorge...that would look sweet. but its your picture, and sexy at that.
