One Question About Each Side.

First big Question: How do you kill Skulks with a LMG?? Do you go full auto or with bursts??? Do you jump around madly and try to hit them or do you backpedal and try to fire?? Do you go in with pistol and switch to LMG as backup?? What do you do when the skulks close the gap??
Second Big Question: As a skulk, I always seem to get sorta disoriented from the chomping teeth and the fast speed. Do you hold the attack key down or do you only bite when you know you will hit them??
Any suggestions would be nice. Thank you.

Question 2:
Just bite when you are sure you will make contact. Unless of course you are in a crowd of marines and you are looking the atleast hurt a few then hop in the middle and bite bite bite. But I usually bite when Im in range and track him then bite when hes in range again. Dont forget to try to parasite them before they know you are there that way atleast your mates can see him if you dont get him.
Burst afar,full-auto nearby
As for the Skulk....you want to make sure they are in range (Try an LAN server wih cheats on so you can build structures) then bite. Also helps to jump like a madman.Remember that skulks are supposed to be insane, not sober.
And if you're going to die....might as well tag him on hivesight with parasite, just so you can extract revenge on him
Most skulks simply hold down the attack button when biting, but it usually works best to only bite when you're going to hit. "Dodge, dodge, bite, dodge, dodge, bite, dead marine" works much better than" rabid dog."
And if the skulk surprises me behind the corner I start to jump around and just shoot like madman.
As a skulk I try to bite when I see the enemy, but usually I just hold the attack key. Sometimes I can track and kill them, even when the teeths are chomping, but sometimes I lose my target and then it's bye bye...

and then, while waiting to respawn you go and change your pants/underware/boxers/knickers/panties...
Yes strafe+shoot makes it a lot harder for skulks to track you as they have to turn as they approach. Also jumping can help as well when you think the skulk is getting a little too close as this negates leg biting, but in 2.0 jumping is limited so you can't be a jumping tard.
For skulks, aim for the body. the legs are a bit iffy on hitboxes. So jump+attack is the best way to go. When you approach the marine, strafe as much as possible! Make it harder for him to track you and you can shave off a few bullets. When you are near, don't spam! Keep cool and track your target and attack only when you can guarantee a hit.
As a marine, I try not to pick up any guns unless the commander's spamming them like hell, because I'll probably be the first to die when a skulk attacks the group. I like to keep myself nice and disposable. As alien, I'll take upgrades, but I don't bother going lerk or anything. The only time I change species is occasionally going fade if I see a good hosable unguarded turret farm.

One word for you....practice!
Practice and then you will get better. It doesn't really matter (too much) if you die as a higher species or lose a gun. Just get right into the thick of the action. Before you know it you will be pretty good!
Ah, but here you are wrong. Dont move back, strafe. Moving back doesnt help you most of the time, if you strafe its very hard to hit you, IMHO.
Strafing and jumping around in circles etc while shooting full auto with the lmg seems to help pretty good for close up skulks. Also if you duck and jump and get bitten while in the air you will be thrown away pretty fast(this will not be in ns 2.0 thankfully as it is very annoying if you are a skulk)
If you see a skulk closing in on you, turn around and run for a second, then jump, and in midair turn around to face the skulk. Then, hit jump right as you hit the ground so you don't lose speed due to friction. Repeat the previous time as many times as needed while you unload into the skulk. In effect you're moving backwards at a speed of normal running while still pointing your gun in the direction of the skulk. It takes a bit of practice to get down. I've also heard that binding your mousewheel to jump is also very effective for this. I haven't tried that bind, but I will.
Note: This is NOT bunnyhopping. I'm also not sure if this'll work in 2.0
They are adding in a counter to the bunnyhopping like CS, so when you jump and hit the ground you slow down momentarily, so keep jumping while your slowed down wont help you escape , unless the hitboxes are worse

Please God no. NOT like in CS. *temple vein throbbing painfully* I hate it, hatehatehate.
A very important thing to do as a marine: listen. Unless in places like Powersilo or Viaduct where you can't hear anything anyway, listening to skulk footsteps can often save your life. They can't get a jump on you so easily if you're alerted to their presence, and even less so when you know which direction they are coming from.
As for actual combat, it's just practice I guess. As a marine, don't reload when you're out, just switch to the pistol, and when the pistol's out (and you've still managed to stay alive), change to the knife, sometimes you just get lucky.
2 hive Gorges are a bigger problem, when they do have them i is a priority to take them out as soon as possible
Supposedly say you are up against a Fade and Gorge,if you get kiled and kill the Fade in the process, surely you waste their res,but Fades are common at 2 hives so it wouldn't matter
Taking out the Gorge on the other hand would decrease the chances of survival for the Fade, unless he know how to Blink away, but if you have any teammates around, you can count on them to take the Fade out, because you just gave them a BIG favor of getting rid of the healer

When you play as a Skulk, make sure you close the distance quickly but carefully, the mistake I tend to do is run straight at a marine, don't.It's just a way to get yourself killed quickly.Side-step,spiral and attempt to parasite him while he is firing, once he runs out of ammo on both of his guns(or his LMG) it's a good idea to rush traight at him.Just make sure he doesn't pull out that pistol of his
When playing Fade it's a good idea to know how to Blink you way around.I suggest practising on a passworded LAN server and enable cheats,so you can get the hive
When you are going to gestate into an Onos make sure you choose the right place to evolve.I have always gestated into an Onos at wrong places one too many times ^^;

Obsolete once 2.0 comes out, because 1 hive Gorges tend to move in groups :/ and of course different gameplay and all :/
2.Also however you like since skulks can/could bite out thier **** last I checked(if you back into a marine and used bite it should hit him, so i just circle around marines facing one direction mostly)
