What in God's name is that thing? The supposedly hand-fed belt, its...wrong. I can't see how that thing holding the belt is a hand in anyway, shape, or form. Elaborate with a screenie in a brighter place, please.

The MG42 is a heavy mountable (w/ tripod) machinegun that the Germans used in WW2. BTW, put in the box clip for it, trust me, its better. Look it up on http://world.guns.ru/ to see what it looks like, i think its there.

Just found a pic on the site. It doesnt show it with the box clip but its still a pretty sexay pic.

hmm really u shoulda imported the ns arms instead of creating a big cylinder, because i didnt know what it was at first :/
• XenoHazardXenoHazard Join Date: 2003-05-05 Member: 16085Members
Yea, put NS arms in there and put a box clip it. Take a few more notes from the DOD team.

Hello Sin Goku, saw you one time on the server but you were speaking german which I coudln't barely understand lol anyway, If I'm correct this version of the mg42 is based FROM AN ANIME SERIES, not a real life version of a mg42, so of course from anime you can expect odd stuff, the mg is used in that position...some backup pictures would help
• ObstObst Join Date: 2003-03-12 Member: 14436Members, Constellation
Actully these are the NS arms, just the angle I put them in is bad [I boned each bullet to create some kinda kewl reload anim ^^ and forgot the angle of the arm]. And yes, SinSpawn is right, it's based on an anime named Jin Rih. Go here some some information and further links:
http://www.dan42.com/jinroh/

Here's a crappy quali pic of how the gunz are held.

Well, that's an NS arm....just reskinned/moved/whatever (im guessing ) and the arm is holding a handle infront, and the ammo belt is "slung" over the arm...

Exaly! *hugs jelly* I had to stretch it otherwise you'd be able to see "into" the arm. I think I'll put some more bones in the arm and reposition it, but in some hours I'll get to a party so I can continue work tomorrow, or in 2 weeks (holidays...) But I will finish this one. Definately. (Mostly because I don't have to skin anything myself ^^)

ALRIGHT, jin-roh knubs.

the belt hangs over the arm that's holding the bipod..

in a *GROOVE*, in a PLATE fixed to the forearm.

edit: just look at his pic. i don't feel like getting another. lol
• ObstObst Join Date: 2003-03-12 Member: 14436Members, Constellation
I never really noticed: Does he hold a bipod or just a special handle that can't function as bipod? [Important for the model]

it's the bipod itself.
it's fairly far back on the bottom of the heat shield, easily held with your left hand.

... if you're a beastly strong panzer cop.

yeap.

So I can just take the DoD bipod instead of modeling a block? Kewl, less work for me ^^
• UnknownUnknown Join Date: 1970-01-01 Member:
do it, man! i love you for this!
• ObstObst Join Date: 2003-03-12 Member: 14436Members, Constellation
I'm at it! I've already done the leoad anim but I'll redo it and fix some proprotion issues. Sadly, I'll be off for 2 weeks or so from now but then work will continue! (When I have time I'll make Jin Roh Hands ^^)

w000! don't forget the groove in the arm-plate thing... whee!

You can say what you want about it, just dont sound like an @$$, even if you are right.

Btw, its not a "nubbed" hand, his hand is down holding on to the 2 little prongs. You just cant see it.

Is that a conversion or an original model?
• UnknownUnknown Join Date: 1970-01-01 Member:
a conversion, sorta.

guys, he's gonna be away for, i think, another week.

i gave him the only suggestions he needs to complete the jin-roh feel.

no more complaints.
