Alien Attacks Don't Work Half The Time For Me.

<div class="IPBDescription">Intended?</div> I'll run into a marine base as an onos and gore some stuff, then switch to charge. I'll have full stamina, but charge WILL NOT ACTIVATE. I have to smash the attack button about 30 times until it goes on, and by then I'm dead.


I'll leap at a marine outpost and switch to 'xenocide'. I smash my attack button 50 times and I'm hopping around like a loony trying not to die, and then FINALLY I hear the scream and... I'm killed.


I'll stomp a marine and devour him, then try to gore his buddies, and half the time I'm stuck in 'Devour' or something, and I can just sit there watching as they come out of the coma and blast me to hell.


I hear FLayra, for some REDICULOUSLY STUPID REASON nerfed weapon switching. Why? Who the hell knows. But I'm almost 100% positive that's the reason why occasinally I'm stuck as a sitting duck with no attacks.

    I believe this is the anti script code screwed up again like back in 1.00 if you switched from bite to leap too fast the game would kill you.

    So you punish the handful of naughty people that use a script, and then **** the game up beyond belief for people that don't script. What the hell is the point of xeno without leap?

    Xeno THEN leap.

    Not that that really adresses the fundamental problem, but I've never had problems firing xeno while hiding/in cover, and then timing the leap so I explode right as i hit the target. If you leap first then your a sitting duck while xeno counts down. xeno then leap gives the marines basically 0 time to react and shoot you down before the xeno pops off.

    I've never had problems with weapon switching, I guess i'm not fast enough with my fingers to trigger the anti-script code.

    I've had that problem once as a fade. I had to click "swipe" about 3 or 4 times before it would finally pull my claws out.

    Yes this is a very annoying issue I've encountered many a time.

    With leap and bite, Stomp and Devour, Stomp and Gore, Charge, blink and swipe.


    Usually die from it... as your think your attacking until you realise it's 'STUCK' and your doing nothing... just as annoying as devours aiming mechanism.


    Be good if it could be fixed.

    it's intentional that there's a delay when switching weapons. i don't understand the point myself coz it makes pulling off neat combo moves impossible and just looks lame. almost all the times aliens come up to me they just come right up to my face and just stand there for a while doing nothing and then they hit me. it's just really lame. i hope this delay is removed coz it makes the game really boring. i thought at first that they were all noob players that were retarded and uncoordinated and couldn't move their fingers and hands quickly but apparently it's a built in retardation to the game. it should go.

    Wow, some people will find any excuse to label NSv2.0 as "TEH WOERST GAEM EVARR!!!!11". The weapon switching is nerfed by not even a second, i've had about one problem with this and i play every day. Please, can people stop whining so much, or at least have some sort of constructive feedback.

    well, from what I've seen there's an impulse delay to avoid the scripters (something like 2 seconds delay between switching impulses), and since an attack is an impulse, I'd guess that's the root of the problem.

    I have my keys bound to t-forward, g-back, f-left, h-right, with the r,y,j,u representing slots for quick changes. I've had the problem of not being able to use an ability when I first downloaded the game. Then I read something about enabling <b>cl_lw</b>, setting it to 1 in the console. Apparently this has fixed most of the problems for me - I can't see it being a placebo effect (unless it is for the game).

    As a fade vs 2 HA/SG you're dead in 1 second....

    Seriously, that's what teamwork's for.

    I would expect a Fade to be dead in a second against those odds.
