With everyone complaining about newbie comms in pubs, why don't we have a commander tutorial?
Nothing special, just the ability for someone to load up a single-player game and have access to building objects, seeing how to upgrade, seeing how to use beacon, where the hotkeys are, etc. Maybe put a few dummy marines in who don't do anything at all, but lets you test with the squad/waypoints.

Make it so that you have to complete a simple setup of a base before you can comm in a real game. It'd require you to build an IP, armory, TF, some turrets, RT, use obs to sweep, and upgrade weapons once. If someone completes those tasks, they're flagged as "certified commanders" and are allowed to use the CC in real games.
Nothing is more fun than when NSPlayer jumps into the CC in total confusion.

>Multiplayer
>LAN game
>pick fav map, DO NOT check dedicated server, make name, start game
>once map is loaded, open console and type "sv_cheats 1" (no quotes)
>join marines
>open console again and type "bigdig" (buildings automatically build self, so you dont have to hop in and >out of commchair)
>hop in chair
This lets you learn the prices, the tech tree, test out building placements, and the hot keys. As well, as soon as Cheeseh gets his marine bots 2.0 compatible, you can have bots instead of cheating to try things out.
