looking good since i last checked on this. I really can't wait to play it. I'm not too happy about that large roof room. It you do to it make sure that the red space has a good texture on it. Even better i suggest a caved in roof maybe?

Don't go overkill with the tech it will just end up looking, well, overdone . You've got to have something resembling a room with a stone circle raised out of the floor with spinning glowy things floating about the room (related to your phase tech story?). I attempted this idea back when they were working on ns 1.1, it was basic and I wasn't ready when they were playtesting 1.1 submissions, and due to the overwhelmingly negative feedback on the idea, with the main complaint being that it didn't fit the NS theme, I stopped development and moved on to other projects.
Your rendition of the idea is much better than mine was, even completed I don't think mine would have looked near as good as yours does now.
Old (VERY old, none of the screenshots at this link reflect even the beta release for internal playtesting back before 1.1) screens can be found @ http://nsworld.ns-central.co.uk/Map.php?UniqueID=130
Do not ask for a copy of the map or its source because I do not even have them myself anymore, I deleted all my mapping files when I quit mapping.

Uffo: Don't let it get you down. Save the map if its never officially accepted and rework it for some other mod, because you have real talent evident in the screenshots.
wow I cant believe I missed out on this project! It looks AMAZING!!! Very nice theme. The mapping itself is decent but it needs a bit of detailing, especially in the lighting department. It would be REALLY nice if you could incorporate more metal into the stone walls and stuff to give it a really techy feeling. But I think you should definately work on the lighting a bit and get that down and it should be an amazing map.
Just my personal suggestion, I think you should focus on blue lighting with the stone and a little darker rooms. The contrast between these two colours is really nice IMO. You could also do some really neat stuff with the particle system just have a couple places with sort of mystical blue glowing fog coming out of the stone. The mirror idea that was suggested earlier sounds really awesome I have to say. And I also agree that this is potentially official map material!! Just keep it going, I cant wait to see more screenshots!

Temple got shot down? Any links to where that was said, because I really can't see why this map couldn't be considered. It would seem to fit the whole NS theme perfectly, and adding in the idea of archaeology enriches the storyline.

I know exactly what your feeling with this map this is what ALWAYS happened to me and my maps... Oh well i did finish a few of them after taking an extended break i hope you will to.
how about you give it to someone who will finish it
This idea has so much potential, it's not even funny. If you've never played Metroid Prime, try it. It has some really beautiful ancient temple/high tech architecture.

Rather than starting a new thread requesting how the progress was going on this awesome looking map, I decided to bump the original thread.
So, any more progress? I would love to see some more pics of this damn fine looking map.
