Waht auobt if I dletelbieray use big wdros like eieiastxnsl (and dlrtiebeae)? Is taht stlil lleibge?
*Translation* Really? Then let me just mess up this sentance and we'll see if it's still readable
What about if I deliberatly use big words like existensial (and deliberate)? Is that still legible?
Hmm, it doesn't work so well with big words.
I had a little trouble with sentance and deliberate, although i picked up existensial no problem.

O.k, that's just an anagram now, and you can probably guess the word just from the number of letters.

The larger words in your sentence were harder to pick up on because they weren't linear with the sentence. Once you get the first few words out of the way and realize where the sentence is heading, it's relatively easy to pick up on everything.
dr.d and JezPuh, you're doing it wrong!
The first and last letter MUST REMAIN IN PLACE. Otherwise it's just an anagram.
Anyway, have fun. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

Many verbs and nouns in german start and end the same. Granted a native german speaker might have an easier time at it.
Gebirge
Gebäude
Gedanke
Geselle
Gerede
Gerste
Genüge
Geranie
Gerte
Gefälle
Gedärme
Not to mention most words that start with Ge- end in an e as plural.
Let's break out the verbs:
(chose the cool ver- words because they're inseperable prefixes)
vertun
vertreten
verunglücken
verurteilen
vervielfältigen
verteuern
vertreiben
verübeln
verwalten
vervielfachen
verüben
Just for the heck of it, I'll write a sentance in german like this:
Vleiichelt dnkee ich. dsas die dcherrueidanne Wrtröe smtum snid, aebr auf Egcilsnh aeetibrt es borenodss gut.
Vielleicht denke ich, dass die durcheinandere Wörter stumm sind, aber auf Englisch arbeitet es besonders gut.
Knowing what I wrote, except durcheinandere it's somewhat legible, but if you used a common inseperable prefix, like ver-, er- or emp- , the sentance would be harder to know, because they can be interchangable to form meaningful sentances. I guess the fact that most of the words are 1-4 letters helps too.
Someone that feels like writing out a complex sentance out and I'll see if I can decipher it <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.natural-selection.org/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

REM doesn't make you weird, it makes you cool! I'm going to see them in 2 weeks at Jones Beach in NYC! Viva REM!
~the world is collapsing around our ears, I turned up the radio, but I can't hear it...
ok that was wayyy off topic, so I'll add that this really is the coolest thing I've read in a while. I told everyone I know about it, and they're all like, OMG, and put it in their blogs and such. Yes, GG indeed.
