Soon NS will be 1 year old! I'm starting this thread so that those of us who feel like it can thank the NS team (remember it's not just Flayra =) for the hours of fun that they brought us. Developing a big mod like this is tough, let the devs know that we appreciate their efforts!

Flayra, besides being a criminal mastermind, is also responsible for the destruction of friendship between thousands of kids.

The popular kids, the one who wore trendy clothes and listened to trendy music and were CS freaks were brought down to avid gaming, all day in their spare time (skiving off football practice). All the kids started avoiding him. He would randomly outburst with, "Cleanse the intruders!". Many like that one jock have fallen. Flayra must be stopped.

Where to begin...

I remember last year, while all my friends were out partying Holloween eve, I was in my room, enjoying one of the finest multiplayer experiences of my life. The maps and models left me breathless. I could hardly believe this was the Half-Life engine!

Since then, each patch has only improved upon this. When my 21st birthday rolled around, the first thing on my list was not alcohol, but $20 to donate to Constellation (then alcohol).

One of the most memorable experiences of this whole ride was the NS 2.0 release party. I approached Flayra to thank him for creating such a wonderful mod, and when he found out I was a constellation member, he actually thanked me as well.

Now, with the upcoming release of 2.1, the development team pushes onward, improving gameplay and pushing the HL engine to it's limits.

I would just like to extend my thanks to Flayra, Max (I think you should deserve more credit for the model breakthroughs you've created), Monse, and all the other NS devs for putting forth the time and effort to produce an extremely fun, innovative game... for FREE!

*EDIT: I forgot to mention that I actually got my roommate to buy a copy of Half-Life just to play NS because he watched me play so much he got addicted <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'>

Wow, I'm not sure where all the positivity came from, but we very much appreciate it.

We were hoping to get 2.1 done in for a surprise Halloween release, but I don't see how we can make that. It's not far off though, and I think 2.1 will be by far the best NS yet. The year since we've released NS has been a wild ride, and while not always fun, overall it's been a blast.

At the risk of sounding like a money-grubber, I would highly encourage anyone and everyone that loves NS to donate to Constellation, only so you can play 2.1 on Halloween night, even though it may not be balanced and may crash on you. I'll be processing applications constantly, so if you can download 150 megs quickly, you should be able to play by tomorrow night.

And for those of you that said you would buy other games from us, well you just might get that chance...

I was addicted to NS from the first day I played it way back in 2.01d. <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'> It took me about 2 days to decide that I wanted to join the Constellation, and only a few weeks after that to actually set up a paypal account and do it. 2.01 was one of the best games I've ever played. Just yesterday, I got my first shot at playing 2.1, and I was completely blown away again. Once all the details are worked out, it's going to be so much better than 2.01 it's not even funny. For me, it's already more fun, despite the lovely beta bugs and such. Combat rules. Classic style rules even more than it does now. I can't thank the devs enough for such a great game, and of course I have to thank Flayra for letting us in on the beta just for donating, even though it generally means more hassle for him. Thanks so much.
