Not Another Clone Topic
I think that introducing NS to Steam will produce a much needed boost in the playerbase. Just the fact that most people who play CS (which has an ENOURMOUS base) will look at the Natural Selection text each time they open up Steam means that it will become better known. I, unlike many people, find that I enjoy something just as much if it goes mainstream. I guess the real purpose of this post is to get your views on the whole thing.
The commerciality of CS boosted it considerably, and I believe that NS is taking a step in the right direction with this one. NSDraft is making an attempt to encourage Clanning, and I really think that Steam wil help in this. More players = more competition.

Plus since CS is 70% cheats/lamers/tkers/n00bs (etc), that will mean NS will soon have a similar amount (in theory)
Getting NS validated as a real game(? or whatever non-third party is) to Steam should be expedited so that people who use these accuracy-improving measures won't be back down with the masses in terms of FPS skill.
but yeah there are a lot of flamers who think they're the shiz in cs, mute is so handy.

I'm rather confused with this... you use things to better your aim? Things that other people dont know about... and that will "[bring you] back down with the masses in terms of FPS skill." This sounds like exploitation if it really has that much of an effect. If thats the case them I'm glad it doesnt work in Steam.
PS: As a not Napalm, maybe I just misred it or whatever. Also, I saw a couple demos of your clan and you a while ago; you kick arse.
I'm usually in the top 3 on whatever server i play on in DOD, and i don't cheat. That either means i'm better than the cheaters, or they don't cheat. I know its the latter. Dod got a huge influx of n00bs, llamas, nubcakes, drama queens, bisexuals, and everything else when it went commercial. But then it cleared out. More and more people learned how to play and most of the lamers went elsewhere.
i think the same thing could happen with ns. especially since its so strategy based. its harder to cheat and get away with, and ns has a strong base. i know ns will thrive with the new players, you just have to give it time.

dude, capone gave morgan this demo thingie on his comp and i watched it and you can litterly SEE these ppl haxxing, the ct's were blue and the t's were red and the c hares went straight for there head, even thru walls, you could a circle siganling where there head was and if you could shoot it or not, gawd it was HALARIOUS and at the end it said they were winning is 7 diffrent legus...
it was gold
The problem is probably the community--since CS is such an easy to play game, 13 year olds pick it up and start screaming on voice comm (no idea why, I mean the most you can say is, "Watch out they're under bridge!". But no one needs teamwork in CS, right? ), and that's why everyone hates it. Trust meh you guys.
And, yes, NS to Steam should be a very interesting change. Remember all those friends you haven't seen in a long time--but they can't read text (for some reason ), you can just click up the Friends list, and BAM!
