Ok I am new to modeling, and milkshape seems to be totally lacking of help files, so how do I zoom in on key parts, such as the stock or barrel, rather than the middle. And how do I move in 3d mode? This will greatly help.

Why is everything for weapons nowadays in a bull-pup configuration? It looks good and all, but takes a little longer to reload. I understand it looks good, but look up the H&K G11. It fires caseless and looks like it would be a little more something you would see in a sci-fi movie. Even a g36 would look very nice if you took the frame and designed it from there. These sketches look nice, but not trying to be critical but the blade sight doesn't even align with anything and what purpose would that little piece of plastic coming from the base of the hand-grip to the magazine well serve? On a side note, I was thinking wouldn't laser sights add a touch of style? Imagine one of those dark forboding room being cut across by a few laser sights as the marines search for one of those pesky aliens lurking in a dark corner.
I'm not a weapon engineer. I don't really even understand all of the mechanics involved (besides the basics). Pretty much all I was going for were neat looking guns.

Honestly, how would you hold it though? I see the fold-down fore-grip, but you would have to have arms like a damn monkey to hold it properly and the grips are too-close so the recoil wouldn't be absorbed properly. I'm not saying the weapon needs to be totally realistic and functional (this is a game where I'm fighting aliens in space). But even the current weapons have a functional appearance and if you're arms are bent up into a pretzel just to hold it then that does not look neat. Look up some existing designs and throw in a couple of features and this weapon would have my vote.
Man, I still can't get over how sexy that first gun looks. Mind if I use that pic as a representation of my Guass Rifle, a weapon I use in an Online RPG?
IF U WANT REALISM IN THE GUNS GO BUY A REAL 1 i mean its ns with ALIENs and phase tech is that realisim i know most of u want it to a certain digree but come on u cant judge a model/concept by its ''Realisim''

The only question I want answered is how can it be held. Trying to use the CAWS to explain it doesn't work since the weapon is not the one in dispute, not mention doesn't have a fold-down grip and the gun of topic is not a shotgun. As I said before, he did a good job on sketching out the weapon, but he doesn't have much knowledge on the practical part. Not being insulting, but I think that that information can be taken by looking at his gun. I just advise he looks at existing weapons designs and fixes them up for his purposes. That's what they do in the movies...

As for the placement of the grips on the wasp, I know. The design is flawed, and I'm reworking it.

Seriously, did anyone complain that the lightning gun in ut2k3 defied all known laws of science and physics!?
